A nozzle for a low pressure fuel injection that improves the control and size of the spray angle, as well as enhances the atomization of the fuel delivered to the cylinder for an engine, at relatively low pressures. The nozzle includes a metering plate having inner and outer exit cavities in rings spaced circumferentially about a center exit cavity.

A nozzle for a low pressure fuel injector that improves the control and size of the spray angle, as well as enhances the atomization of the fuel delivered to a cylinder of an engine.

A fuel injector includes a valve body and a valve seat positioned at a lower end of the valve body. A needle assembly is positioned within an inner bore of the valve body, the needle assembly including a needle body and an armature connected to an upper end of the needle body. A pair of guides are integrally formed with the valve body for guiding the needle assembly. The pair of guides includes an upper guide and a lower guide; the upper guide guiding the armature and the lower guide guiding the needle body.

Internal combustion engine (ICE) on-plug ignition coils with transistor drivers located in powertrain control modules (PCM) or other remote locations are prone to high electrical and magnetic interference (EMI) emissions and are subject to interference from other components due to long connecting wires. Ionization detection circuits have even greater sensitivity to EMI because of their very low signal current levels (mioroampere). The present feature of the invention integrates both the coil driver transistor and ionization detection circuits into the on-plug ignition coil. By placing the circuit on top or on the side of the coil, the connection distance from the circuit to the secondary winding is minimized. Thus, the circuit is less susceptible to electrical and electromagnetic noise.

A top-feed electronic fuel injector for an internal combustion engine includes an injector body having a valve seat disposed opposite a generally cylindrical bore of nominal inner diameter defined within the injector body. A needle valve moves within the passage between a closed position against the valve seat, as urged by a coil spring disposed within the bore, and an open position away from the valve seat. The coil spring is seated against an end face a spring adjustment tube that is pressed into the bore. The spring adjustment tube, which is formed of rolled sheet stock to provide a &ldquo;spiral-wound&rdquo; configuration featuring at least 1.5 turns, end-to-end, when the spring adjustment tube is viewed in a transverse section, resiliently presses against the walls of the bore to maintain its position and, hence, calibrate the spring force applied to the needle valve.

A vehicle speed control system having phasing circuitry which provides a sequence of electrical phase steps in response to a comparison of actual vehicle speed to a desired vehicle speed. A stepper motor coupled to a pinion shaft rotates by discrete phase steps in response to the phasing circuitry. An anti-backlash/transfer gear assembly includes a first sprocket gear coupled to a second sprocket gear by integrally formed compression or flexure members which hold the sprocket gears together and a spring assembly which displaces the circumferential teeth of the two sprocket gears relative to one another. Another gear assembly couples rotational movement from the stepper motor to the engine throttle.

Vehicular speed control system with reduced gear chatter

A cable attachment assembly for coupling and uncoupling a cable to a throttle control system partially encased within a housing. The housing includes an opening aligned with a cable drum and a protrusion adjacent the opening. A cable cover assembly includes an integrally formed collar having a resilient member formed thereon with a first flap at its end. A second flap is integrally formed on the collar adjacent the first flap. During rotation in an assembly process, the resilient member is compressed as the first flap rotates along the protrusion. As the first flap passes the protrusion, the resilient member is outwardly deflected thereby locking the protrusion between the first and second flaps and, accordingly, locking the cable cover assembly to the housing.

Speed control cable attachment

A switch includes three blade contact terminals against which is biased a rotating printed circuit board. The printed circuit board is rotationally moveable with respect to the blade contacts and has conductive elements on a first side of the printed circuit board for selectively contacting the switching contacts in response to the relative rotation between the switching contacts and the printed circuit board. The conductor elements include a tab for extending around the edge of the printed circuit board to a second side of the printed circuit board so as to provide electrically connected regions on both first and second sides of the printed circuit board. An electrically conducting resilient contact abuts the second side of the printed circuit board and biases the printed circuit board against the switching contacts. The tab and resilient contact can be coupled to a ground potential.
