Certain embodiments comprise a table tennis table having a table tennis surface defined by two table halves and separated by a net. Each table half has an upper playing surface, a width defined between opposing side edges and a player end arranged along the width. In one embodiment, the table tennis table includes a ball storage rack having a length mounted along the width of at least one table half adjacent the player end, wherein the ball storage rack is configured to support a plurality of table tennis balls. The ball storage rack defines a gap along its length, wherein the gap faces outward from the player end and has a size sufficient to allow table tennis balls to be selectively removed through the gap.

A multi-section table tennis table half comprises first and second table sections which abut to form a first table half. Each of the sections includes an upper surface for playing table tennis, an opposite lower surface an inner edge. The inner edges of the first and second sections abut to form a first table half joint. The vertical cross-section of the joint may be stepped, with each of the inner edges being stepped and thereby including a horizontal section positioned between two vertical sections. The table half may further include a fastener spanning the abutment between the sections to secure the connection of the sections.

An apparatus useful for playing table tennis. The apparatus includes a table top with a first pair of T-shaped legs. The first pair of legs are pivotally mounted to the bottom surface of the table top and are capable of pivoting about two axes. A second pair of legs capable of pivoting about one axis are also attached to the bottom surface of the table top. All four legs have a first position folded against the bottom surface of the table top. All four legs have a position unfolded from the table top that supports the weight of the table top when table tennis is being played. The pair of T-shaped legs also have a position in which they are pivoted such that the crossmember of the T-shape extends beyond an edge of the table top. The T-shaped legs are thus capable of supporting the table top when the table top is substantially vertical.
