Described is provided a vapor provision system for generating a vapor for user inhalation, the system including a housing, a first user input mechanism configured to provide a first input to control a first aspect of vapor generation and located on a first side of the housing, and a second user input mechanism configured to provide a second input to control a second aspect of vapor generation and located on a second side of the housing, the second side of the housing opposite to the first side of the housing, wherein the first user input mechanism and the second user input mechanism are different types of user input mechanisms.

An active ingredient adjustment system for an electronic vapor provision system (EVPS), comprises a memory configured to store data indicating a target amount of active ingredient to be delivered by the EVPS within a predetermined period having a predetermined start point; a payload usage sensor configured to detect the amount of payload being used; a usage timing processor configured to calculate the rate of active ingredient being delivered to the user based upon the amount of payload being used; and an adjustment processor adapted to alter the operation of the EVPS to reduce the rate of active ingredient being delivered to the user in response to the usage timing processor calculating a rate of active ingredient being delivered that will result in exceeding the target within the predetermined period.

System and method of consumption control for an electronic vapor provision system

An apparatus for an electronic aerosol provision system may include a replaceable cartridge for the electronic aerosol provision system or a fixed component of a re-fillable or disposable electronic aerosol provision system. The apparatus includes a reservoir for a source liquid and a carrier module supported within the reservoir. The carrier module defines an airflow path within the reservoir and includes a heating element supported in the airflow path for generating an aerosol from the source liquid and first and second mounting parts which cooperatively engage to support the heating element. The first and second mounting parts cooperatively engage at an interface which extends in a direction substantially parallel to a direction along which air flows in the airflow path when the apparatus is in normal use. A gap between the first and second mounting parts may provide a capillary channel for drawing source liquid to the heating element from the reservoir heating during use.

A temperature regulating system for an electronic vapor provision system (EVPS) comprises a sensor to detect at least one parameter of the airflow within the EVPS; a user interface adapted to receive an indication from a user that a puff of the EVPS was too hot; and a processor adapted to change at least a first aspect of a vapor generation process to reduce the vapor temperature at the mouthpiece, based upon sensor data from the at least one parameter of the airflow, in response to the received indication.

An electronic vapor provision device comprises: includes a first electrical resistive heater for vaporizing a precursor material to generate vapor in an airflow for inhalation by a user and a second electrical resistive heater for vaporizing the precursor material and/or heating said airflow. The first electrical resistive heater has a first thermal coefficient of resistance which is less than a second thermal coefficient of resistance of the second electrical resistive heater. The device further includes a control system to monitor for a change in the resistance of at least the second electrical resistive heater. The tank may be included in an electronic vapor provision device or in a component for an electronic vapor provision device such as a cartomizer.

Mechanical connector for electronic vapor provision system

An electronic vapor provision device includes a first electrical resistive heater for vaporizing a precursor material to generate vapor in an airflow for inhalation by a user and a second electrical resistive heater for vaporizing the precursor material and/or heating said airflow. The first electrical resistive heater has a first thermal coefficient of resistance which is less than a second thermal coefficient of resistance of the second electrical resistive heater. The device further includes a control system to monitor for a change in the resistance of at least the second electrical resistive heater. The second electrical resistance heater therefore serves both as a heater and as a temperature monitor.

An electronic aerosol provision system includes a vaporizer for generating an aerosol using electrical power; a battery for supplying electrical power to the vaporizer and to other components of the electronic aerosol provision system; a flat, flexible cable having a laminated structure and incorporating multiple conductor lines for transmitting electrical power and/or signals; and a temperature sensor incorporated into the flat, flexible cable and located adjacent the battery for sensing the temperature of the battery. A vapor provision apparatus including a vapor generation chamber containing a vaporizer for generating vapor from a vapor precursor material; and an air channel wall defining an air channel between the vapor generation chamber and a vapor outlet at a mouthpiece end of the vapor provision apparatus through which a user can inhale vapor during use; wherein an inner surface of the air channel wall is provided with at least one protrusion extending into the air channel to modify (redirect) a flow of air in the air channel during use. For example, the at least one protrusion may be arranged to define one or more portions of a helical wall extending into the air channel so as to impart a degree of rotation about an axis of extent of the air channel to air flowing in the air channel during use.

A cartomizer for a vapor provision system, the cartomizer including: a container for holding a reservoir of free liquid to be vaporized; an atomizing chamber; a porous wick extending from inside the container, through an aperture in a wall of the atomizing chamber, to inside the atomizing chamber in order to convey the liquid from the reservoir to the inside of the atomizing chamber for vaporization; and a resilient seal provided in the aperture to restrict the liquid from entering the atomizing chamber from the reservoir except by travelling along the wick.
