A schema development system is provided. The system includes a location component to automatically determine members of a schema set. A processor component performs software development operations across the schema set. The members of the schema set can be implicitly determined from at least one development file, where the development file can be an XML file or an XSD file, for example.

Building, viewing, and manipulating schema sets

Object instance annotation technology is disclosed. This technology is capable of annotating any number of instances for any number of objects. Object instance annotations can be of various types, and annotations can serve as data extensions. Objects are enabled for annotation either by developers, or, alternatively, automatically by a programming language or framework. Furthermore, an interface is provided for annotations. This interface has a variety of operations, some of which allow for adding, retrieving, or removing annotations. Annotations can be reference types or even value types. They may also be private class types. Once object instances are enabled for annotating, and the interface is set up, this interface can annotate a multitude of different kinds of objects. For example, it can annotate generic objects, XML trees, CodeDom trees, and so on.

Instance annotation in object-oriented programming

A computer system and process for issuing digital certificates use domain-control vetting to issue certificates. A requestor requests a certificate from a certificate authority, which identifies at least one approver to approve issuance of the digital certificate. If approved, the certificate authority accepts the request, creates and signs the certificate, and the signed certificate is sent to the requester.

Methods and systems for automated authentication, processing and issuance of digital certificates

Programming mechanisms for data parsing facilitate both clear code specification and efficient execution. Declarative style code can be employed to enable clear and concise specification of data parsing. Further, an efficient parsing approach can be utilized that enables processing of a data structure without first materializing the entire structure to memory. More specifically, streaming and/or selective materialization of portions of data to memory can be employed.

Streamlined declarative parsing

The present invention is a method and system for providing a user with confirmation of the origin of a Web site and related information including the steps of registering a Web site with an assuring third party, saving the registration on a registration server, entering in a database the Web site's Internet domain name and cross-referencing it to the registration data, retrieving the Web site's domain with an Internet browser, and either (1) using a client application tool to call for registration data for the domain name via a secure SSL connection with the registration server, determining if the domain has been registered, and returning and displaying registration data for the domain name as a confirmed identity, or (2) calling a program on the registration server in response to an HTML tag on the domain via a secure SSL connection and passing it the domain name, determining if the domain has been registered, determining if the domain name has been registered, and returning and displaying registration data for the domain name as a confirmed identity.

Web site identity assurance

A schema code complexity analysis architecture that computes complexity data for output to a code designer. The complexity data can be in the form of a number and/or complexity level. A schema component is provided for processing schema code, and a metrics component, for outputting a complexity value based on complexity of the schema code. In one implementation, the schema code is based on an XML schema, and the metrics component employs a newly-defined variation of a McCabe cyclomatic complexity metric to determine the complexity value. The decisions employed for computing schema complexity can include choices, occurrence constraints, element references to substitution groups, type references to types that are extended or restricted, a multiplicity of root element declarations, and nillable elements.

Complexity metrics for data schemas

A developer can express the logic offered by a Web service, or other network accessible service, using a standard programming language augmented with declarative annotations specifying preferences for exposing that logic as a Web service. At compile time, an enhanced compiler can analyze the annotated source file and automatically generate the mechanisms required to expose its functionality as a Web service or network accessible service.

Systems and methods for creating network-based software services using source code annotations

A system for managing data element names, comprises a parent table for listing names of data elements that is constrained such that the parent table cannot grow beyond a first predetermined size. The system also includes a child table for listing names of data elements that is derived from the parent table and that is constrained such that the child table cannot grow beyond a second predetermined size. Methods for using the system are also provided.

Generational global name table

An architecture that leverages support for markup language operations, e.g., extensible markup language (XML) queries, via a lightweight application program interface (API). The API defines an object model that can simplify construction of XML values in languages that do not natively support XML. The novel aspects of the described innovation can enable query languages to be factored into general operations (e.g., mapping, filtering, sorting, and/or projection of functions) on collections on one hand, and a set of domain specific operations (e.g., navigation, construction and modification) on the elements of these collections on another hand. The subject API can support creation of XML data that is node centric (e.g., context-free). Accordingly, nodes do not have to be constructed within the context of a document. Additionally, aspects can enable expression-oriented interface mechanisms as opposed to the imperative statement-oriented style interfaces used in connection with traditional interface mechanisms (e.g., DOM).

A Requestor requests a web server certificate from a certificate authority, the certificate authority receives the request. Based on domain information the certificate authority generates Approver email addresses, and the Requestor is required to select an Approver email address or addresses. The certificate authority contacts the Approver using the selected email address or addresses and requests that the Approver approve issuance of the certificate. If approved, the certificate authority accepts the request, and creates and signs the certificate and the signed certificate is sent to the Requestor.
