Provided herein are DNA aptamers targeting AXL receptor kinase. The DNA aptamers may comprise a thiophosphate backbone and be chemically modified. Further provided herein are methods of use thereof for the treatment of a disease or disorder, such as cancer.

DNA aptamers and use thereof for the treatment of cancer

A diving board lift assembly for lifting a diving board from a substantially horizontal diving position to a substantially upright position is provided. The diving board having a diving end and a hinged end with the hinged end hingedly connected to a diving board support member. To raise the diving board, an actuator is rotated in a clockwise direction which rotation causes a portion of the top assembly to the lift mechanism to make contact with and raise the diving board to a near vertical position. To lower the diving board to its original position, the actuator need simply be rotated in a counter-clockwise direction.

V-lift

A plurality of lengths of floss each includes two ends and a finger loop at each of the ends. The lengths of floss are removably connected to each other to form a single, continuous piece and are stored within a dispenser. The dispenser includes an opening configured to permit the lengths of floss to be removed there-through and then separated for use.

A remote control holder includes a platform having two opposing long sides. A wall is disposed along each of the long sides and extends upwardly from the platform. Each wall includes a padded structure disposed along an inward facing surface thereof The padded structure includes a flexible cover thereon. A first switch is disposed within one of the padded structures adjacent the cover. A remote control unit is of sufficient width for the remote control unit to depress the first switch by urging against the padded structures and the first switch when the remote control unit is placed on the platform with the bottom broad surface parallel to and touching the platform. The first switch is connected to a first power source and a timer circuit. The timer circuit is connected to a transmitter and configured to control the operation thereof. The remote control unit includes a second power source connected to a receiver, and the receiver connected to a sound generating circuit.

Remote control finder

A glove includes at least one resilient pad attached thereto. The pads each include a plurality of pet brush bristles extending outwardly therefrom. In a first embodiment of the pad and bristles, the bristles each have a flattened head at one end thereof. The pad comprises a first layer through which the bristles extend. A second layer is attached to the first resilient layer, such that the flattened head of the bristle is captured between the first resilient layer and the second resilient layer. In a second embodiment of the pad and bristles, the bristles are integrally formed with the pad. In a third embodiment of the pad and bristles, the pad comprises first and second layers as in the first embodiment. A plurality of mushroom-shaped buttons is attached to the second layer. The buttons removably engage with resilient top and inner layers attached to the glove. In a fourth embodiment of the pad and bristles, the bristles are integrally formed with a resilient outer layer. A plurality of mushroom-shaped buttons is attached to the outer layer. The buttons removably engage with the top and inner layers attached to the glove.

An enclosure includes a hollow robe disposed at a first end thereof and extending outwardly there-from. A collapsible bulb is attached to a second end of the enclosure for drawing atmosphere into the enclosure through the hollow robe when the bulb is squeezed and released. The enclosure further includes a viewing aperture. An indicating strip is disposed in the enclosure such that the strip is in environmental communication with the interior of the enclosure and viewable through the viewing aperture from outside of the enclosure. The indicating strip is configured to change in appearance when gases indicating the presence of food contamination are absorbed by the strip.

Food spoilage detector

A gum dispenser includes a substantially rectangular, box shaped container having a platform therein. The platform is disposed substantially parallel to a first wall and a second wall of the container. When sticks of gum are positioned between the platform and the second wall of the container, a spring urges the platform against the sticks of gum, and a leading stick of gum is urged against the second wall of the container. The second wall of the container includes a track, with an operator slidably engaged therein. When a user slides the operator toward a slot in the lid of the dispenser, a seat of the operator engages a short edge of the leading stick of gum and pushes the gum partially through the slot, thereby dispensing the gum. The container further includes a base with a notch therein for limiting movement of the operator in a direction away from the lid, so that the operator remains engaged within the track. The dispenser is preferably constructed of plastic or other suitable, rigid, non-permeable material.

Dispenser for chewing gum or bubble gum

A seat includes first slots therein for drawing air from the vicinity of a toilet rim into the seat. A second slot is disposed at one end of the seat and is in environmental communication with the first slots. The seat includes a sleeve at one end for receiving a tube to become pivotal about the tube. Anchors secure the the tube to a toilet. A tube slot within the tube is configured to align with the second slot when the seat is in a closed position. The sleeve is configured to cover the tube slot when the seat is in an open position. The tube includes an open first end. A duct fits the first end of the tube. A fan connects to the duct and discharges air to a suitable location.

Toilet ventilation system

A microprocessor acts upon instructions received from a random access memory and a read only memory. A removable hard drive contains musical selections digitally stored thereon. The hard drive stores data in the random access memory and retrieves data from the random access memory as directed by the microprocessor. A monitor displays a list of available musical selections and a list of the customer's selections. A keyboard is used by the customer to provide input to the microprocessor. A card reader retrieves electronic information from a payment card and sends payment information to the microprocessor. A CD writer and dispenser is controlled by the microprocessor to retrieve a blank compact disk from a CD storage, record the customer's musical selections onto the compact disk, and dispense the compact disk.

A lens for use in indirect ophthalmoscopy having two functions; firstly as a condensing lens converging light from an ophthalmoscope light source to the pupil of the eye and thereby illuminating the fundus of the eye, and secondly and simultaneously as an image forming lens which forms an aerial image of the fundus of the eye, which image is viewed monocularly with a monocular indirect ophthalmoscope or binocularly and stereoscopically with a binocular indirect ophthalmoscope. The novel features of the lens of this invention are that both the front and back surfaces of the lens are positive aspheric surfaces of revolution of conoid type on a common axis of revolution, the dioptric power at the apex of the front surface of the lens being approximately twice that of the apex of back surface of the lens, which back surface faces the eye being examined, the eccentricity of the front surface bearing a definite relationship to the eccentricity of the back surface, the eccentricities of the two surfaces of the lens being a function of the sum of the dioptric powers of the two surfaces of the lens, the eccentricities and apical dioptric powers of the surfaces of the lens being such that the lens converges the light from the ophthalmoscope light source to a precise image of the source at the entrance pupil of the eye, and simultaneously the lens forms with the light emerging from the eye a substantially flat aerial image of the fundus of the eye in which images the aberrations of the image including curvature, astigmatism and distortion are optimally corrected.

Lens for indirect ophthalmoscopy

This invention pertains to a novel compact hand-held optical system whch is used both as a light condenser and as an aerial image former in the examination of the fundus of the eye with the indirect ophthalmoscope and with the slit lamp biomicroscope. The novel optical system has the unique feature that the aerial image of the fundus produced by it is upright rather than inverted as in the present state of the art with hand-held indirect ophthalmoscopy lenses. The novel optical system consists of three coaxial air-spaced double aspheric lenses which are so designed and positioned as to converge the illuminating light beam from the light source such that an image of said source is formed at the center of the pupil of the examined eye, the light then diverging from said image to illuminate the fundus of the eye. The light emerging from the eye through its pupil is then refracted by the novel optical system to form an upright aerial image of the fundus between the lens system and the indirect ophthalmoscope with which the upright aerial image is viewed, in a first embodiment of the invention, and between the lens system and the slit lamp biomicroscope with which the upright aerial image is viewed, in a second embodiment of the invention.

Condensing-image forming optical system for indirect ophthalmoscopy

This invention relates to an improved aspheric posterior chamber intraocular lens and lens series of said novel intraocular lens, which lens is used as a replacement within the eye for the absent human crystalline lens, and a simplified method of selecting a lens from said lens series for use in a given eye. The novel lens of this invention is designed to have a continuously and regularly increasing refractive power from its axis peripheralward in its optically active area and to achieve the following results: the correction of the axial refractive error of the aphakic eye in which it is placed, and the production of clear central vision over a continuous range of distances from far to near, where far is defined as six meters and beyond, and near or reading distance is defined as generally 40 cm from the eye but may be as close as 33 cm.

Accommodating intraocular lens and lens series and method of lens

There is presented an improved head-borne binocular indirect ophthalmoscope for viewing the aerial image of the fundus of the eye, having the unique feature that it incorporates within each of its two observing portions a two-lens telescope of low magnifying power which magnifies said aerial image of the fundus. The telescope incorporated into the ophthalmoscope differs from the usual coaxial type in that the optical axis of the high powered objective lens and that of the high powered ocular lens of said telescope are caused to intersect each other at an angle of about 94.degree. at the surface of a laterally positioned oblique front surface mirror, said lenses and said mirror being in a fixed relationship to each other within a transversely movable mounting as a fixed telescope unit such that the reflected secondary focus of the objective lens falls at the primary focus of the ocular lens, said unit being attached to a slide which is transversely movable along ways toward and away from a medially positioned oblique front surface mirror whereby adjustments can be made within the ophthalmoscope to accommodate the interpupillary distance of the observer without affecting the relative position of the elements of said telescope unit.

Head-borne binocular indirect ophthalmoscope with integrated telescope

A contact lens is disclosed wherein at least one of its surfaces, generally the posterior surface, is an aspheric surface of revolution which decreases in curvature from its apex to its periphery and which varies in a continuous and regular manner in eccentricity from its apex to its periphery. The novel surface is defined in terms of three parameters: apical radius of curvature; apical eccentricity; and collectively one or more derivatives of eccentricity. The lens with the novel surface posterior is so designed that the novel surface approximates the contour of the cornea while at the same time producing optical properties in the lens for optimal correction of the refractive error of the non-presbyopic eye, and when presbyopia exists, for the correction of the refractive error of the eye and presbyopia.
