The present invention relates to an apparatus and method for wine pomace extraction from wine processing tanks in a manner so as to minimize maceration of the wine pomace so as not to taint wine entrained within the pomace. In the present invention, wine pomace is mechanically transported out the processing tank by a conveyor means. Wine pomace is guided into the collecting path of the conveyor means by a mechanical sweeper attached to the conveyor means. In a preferred embodiment, a conveyor with sweeper wing attachments is mounted on a portable cart. The invention is positioned into the processing tank through an entry portal and secured to a tank containing pomace. The conveyor transports pomace to a receiver bin until the majority of pomace is extracted. Sweeper wings are deployed to guide remaining pomace into the collecting path of the conveyor.

Wine pomace extraction apparatus and method

Vacuum coating deposition apparatus and methods employ a vacuum chamber with a superstructure to which deposition components in the vacuum chamber are mounted, such as a sputter target, substrate, etc. to provide a fixed relative position between them substantially unaffected by environmental and operating vibrations and flexure of the chamber wall. The superstructure is structurally independent of the deposition chamber wall and may be housed within the chamber or externally, extending from an external position to or through the wall of the deposition chamber. A meter of sensor, e.g., an optical monitor for measuring film thickness during deposition, continually monitors at least one parameter of the coating deposition and generates a corresponding control signal. A controller responsive to the control signal continually controls at least one process variable of the coating deposition in response to the control signal.

Apparatus and method for vacuum coating deposition

A thin film coating system incorporates separate, separately-controlled deposition and reaction zones for depositing materials such as refractory metals and forming oxides and other compounds and alloys of such materials. The associated process involves rotating or translating workpieces past the differentially pumped, atmospherically separated, sequentially or simultaneously operated deposition and reaction zones and is characterized by the ability to form a wide range of materials, by high throughput, and by controlled coating thickness, including both constant and selectively varied thickness profiles.

Geometries and configurations for magnetron sputtering apparatus

An adjustable hanger for mounting an article such as an anti-glare filter or electromagnetic shield or other cover on a second article such as a computer monitor. The hanger has an L configuration defined by two legs, a first one of which extends along the side/front of the monitor and the second of which rests on, i.e., is supported on, the top surface of the monitor. In a top mounting embodiment, the first leg of the hanger attaches to the top of the filter. A side mounting version preferably uses two hangers, which attach to opposite sides of the filter. The second or top leg preferably has a high-friction bottom surface or pad for providing non-slip positioning on the monitor. The depending leg includes a clamp or enclosure which mounts on the cover's bezel, providing ease of mounting on and removal from the cover. The relative size and configuration of the clamp and bezel can be selected to provide a secure fit. In one embodiment, the clamp provides an interference fit with the bezel. Alternatively, in combination with the interference fit configuration, a compressible friction pad mounted on the interior surface of the clamp provides slip-free mounting of the clamp along the cover. In other embodiments, mating tabs and holes or mating teeth secure the bezel to the hanger clamp, preferably in combination with an interference fit.

Adjustable hanger for mounting an anti-glare filter on a monitor

An optical screen or cover for computer monitors and other video displays comprises a frame to which is mounted an optical plate such as an anti-glare screen, and a concave, U-shaped lip which is mounted to the rear of the frame along three sides of the frame. The lip slides onto and off the monitor for mounting and removing the cover. Also, the lip adapts to monitors of different sizes and provides a snug, custom-appearing fit.
