The containment vessel may be installed with a subsurface configuration allowing for human access for maintenance and modification. Cooling is achieved by one or more fluids circulating inside and/or outside the containment vessel, with a variety of configurations of electronic devices disposed within the containment vessel. The circulating fluid(s) may be cooled in place by thermal conduction or by active transfer of the fluid(s) out of the containment vessel to an external heat exchange mechanism, then back into the containment vessel.

Cooling electronic devices installed in a subsurface environment

A system and method for cooling electronic devices disposed within the inner volume of an enclosure. The inner volume of the enclosure contains one or more single phase or multi-phase thermally conductive fluids and may contain solid or sealed hollow structures that displace and direct thermally conductive fluids.

A power distribution system adapted for high current fault management during a fault event utilizes reclosing switches configured for a quick-slow-quick reclosing sequence in which the reclosing switch initially responds to the fault condition by tripping open, and then after a delay recloses for a first duration of time (slow) prior to tripping open. After another delay, the reclosing switch recloses for a second duration of time (quick) that is less than the first duration of time prior to tripping open for an indefinite interval. When installed in new segments or retrofitted in place of a fuse, reclosing switches configured with quick-slow-quick reclose timing allows for reduction of downstream customer outages, reduced IT exposure for elements upstream of a fault event and a reduction in the duration of voltage sags experienced by customers during fault events while allowing for improved fault management configurations of the power distribution system.

The system includes at least one of a shielded electrical cable connecting each electrode to an input of a detector circuit, wherein the shielding is connected to produce common mode noise rejection; b) a second spaced apart electrode pair antenna spaced apart by one half the first distance and having a midpoint spaced &#x221a;2/2 times the second distance from the surface of the wellbore, c) a second electrode pair antenna having a common midpoint with and being orthogonal to the at least one electric dipole antenna; and d) wherein the at least one electric dipole antenna is disposed in a second wellbore, the second wellbore having substantially no electrically conductive pipe therein.

Pressure balancing mechanisms are included to maintain suitable pressure of gaseous fluid in a volume of the sealed container.
