An electric lighting arrangement including a plurality of lighting units each containing a plurality of LED lights, to form a strip of lights. The units are adapted to be joined together by means of a ball joint arrangement, which comprises two conjoined balls, each ball being adapted to be mounted in a retaining bail cup in a lighting unit, ball cups being provided on opposed ends of the units to enable the units to be pivotable one relative to the other in all planes. Each lighting unit includes a main body incorporating a heat sink in the form of head conducting fins.

A pressurized container () for containing oil and a gas dissolved therein at a constant overall average pressure at a pressure above atmospheric pressure comprising a means () for introducing a local area of reduced pressure within the oil. Preferably the local area of reduced pressure result in the gas dissolved in the oil evolving from the oil. This enables gas to be evolved from the oil without needing to reduce the pressure of the entire volume of oil which the gas is to be evolved from. The evolved gas and remaining oil occupy a greater volume than did the gas containing oil and consequently the pressure in the vessel will increase. This will allow the gas to be drawn off while the overall pressure of the container () is maintained.

Pressurised container

A modular downlight assembly having a channel shaped back housing for mounting in a ceiling cavity and formed with a series of identical apertures receiving, respectively, when mounted in the cavity, selected similar individual downlight modules. Each module has a mounting plate with a power supply mounted on an upper back face received, concealed from view, in an aperture and a lamp housing pivotally suspended from a turnable on a lower face by a scissor linkage for extension and retraction out of and into the housing channel. A protractor for indicating rotational direction is marked on the lower face of the mounting plate. Meshed gear teeth are provided on endmost links of the two linkages of each scissor link, synchronizing their movement. Selected links have movement limiting flanges extending into paths of movement of adjacent links and of the lamp housing limiting extension, pivotal movement and rotation.

A dual-voltage lighting fixture assembly having at least two independent lighting circuits for supporting and energizing tube-type lamps. The assembly comprises a track having an insulating housing for mounting at least one set of conductors along an upper plane surface of the housing and at least one other set of conductors along a lower plane surface of the housing. Sets of complementary tabs formed in the housing provide means for locking a plurality of lamp clips at predetermined positions on the track. An improved lamp clip includes means for connecting the lamp clip to the track and separate means for making electrical contact between the lamp and one of the conductors in the track. The lamp clip has corresponding apertures for receiving the complementary tabs in the track to lock the lamp clip in position, and an outwardly-extending tang integral with one side thereof for making electrical contact with the conductor. A low-profile track connector connects sections of track together end-to-end to form a track of variable length, wherein a continuous line of lamps can be maintained from one track section to the next without interruption at the point of connection.
