A device for monitoring a physiological variable determines a starting value for a self-adjusting alarm limit based on an abnormal state of the physiological variable. The device determines a new value for the self-adjusting alarm limit from physiological data values received during a time window. When the new value for the self-adjusting alarm limit moves in a targeted direction, the device resets the self-adjusting alarm limit at the new value.

Continuous patient monitoring

A therapeutic wrap includes a flexible member configured to wrap around an affected area. Actuators are operably coupled to the flexible member. Each actuator is operable between a deployed state and a non-deployed state. A first coupling feature is disposed proximate a first edge on a first surface of the flexible member. A second coupling feature is disposed proximate a second edge on a second surface of the flexible member. The first coupling feature is configured to engage the second coupling feature when the flexible member is wrapped around the affected area and when the flexible member is slidably adjusted relative to the affected area. A retaining feature is coupled to at least one end of the flexible member and configured to retain the flexible member in a selected position on the affected area.

Health management system

A thermometer includes one or more temperature sensors mounted on a housing. The one or more temperature sensors determine a temperature of at least one measurement site without contact. The non-contact thermometer displays an indicator to assist alignment of the one or more temperature sensors with the at least one measurement site, receives at least one measurement reading from the at least one measurement site, determines a temperature based on the at least one measurement reading, and displays the temperature on a display unit.

Noncontact thermometer

A vision screening device includes an image capture component. The vision screening device displays a chromatic aberration, captures an optical image using the image capture component, and estimates a refractive error based on the optical image.

Eye accommodation control

Various implementations disclosed herein relate to systems, methods, and devices to facilitate mass vision screening of individuals. An example method includes capturing a first image of an individual and confirming an identity of the individual based on the first image. In response to confirming the identity of the individual, the method may further include capturing one or more second images of an eye of the individual; determining one or more health metrics of the individual based on the one or more second images, and transmitting, to a remote device, the identity of the individual and the one or more health metrics of the individual. The one or more health metrics may include at least one of a pupillary distance of the individual, a pupil size of the eye of the individual, a complete refraction of the eye of the individual, or an alignment indicator of the eye of the individual.

Systems and methods to facilitate vision screening and reporting

A vision screening apparatus includes first and second display units, a processor, and instructions which are executable by the processor. The instructions, when executed by the processor, cause the apparatus to 1) carry out a photorefraction test of a subject, 2) estimate the subject's visual acuity based on the photorefraction test, 3) present the subject with a visual acuity check optotype for an interval of time, and 4) monitor for noncompliance with a visual acuity check protocol during at least part of the time interval.

Vision screening apparatus with a visual acuity protocol compliance feature and an associated method of vision screening

A vision screening system for testing the vision of a patient is described herein. The vision screening system may include a vision screening device configured to perform a number of vision screening tests. For example, the system may be configured to determine or generate a graphical representation for display to the patient, via the vision screening device, to evaluate the health of the patient's vision and/or detect abnormal vision behavior. The system may be configured to evaluate image/video data recorded by the vision screening device to determine measurements associated with the patient during the vision screening. The system may be configured to analyze the measurements to generate a diagnosis recommendation associated with the vision of the patient. The system may also be configured to display the recommendation and/or the measurements, along with additional screening data, to a tester conducting the vision test.

Vision screening device and methods

A vision screening apparatus conducts a photorefraction ocular screening test to generate refractive error data. Based on the refractive error data, a Snellen equivalent is determined. An evaluated person distance from the vision screening apparatus is also determined and used to generate an adjusted optotype size. The vision screening apparatus displays the optotype, adjusted for the Snellen equivalent and the evaluated person distance.

Visual acuity examination

A system for conducting an examination of the eyes of a subject includes an examination instrument which emits light at infrared wavelengths, and a shield. The shield provides shielding of the subject's eyes from visible wavelengths. At least a portion of the shield is transparent to the infrared wavelengths emitted by the examination instrument. A related method of conducting an eye examination on a subject includes the step of providing a shield which is transparent to infrared wavelengths but nontransparent to visible wavelengths. The method also includes the step of carrying out the examination with an instrument which is located on the examiner facing side of the shield and which emits the infrared wavelengths to which the shield is transparent. One variant of the method determines parameters relating to the subject's eyes and/or vision using only information considered to be valid, validity being based on the subject's pupil diameter.
