A locking system for beverage taps (10) is provided for use with conventional beverage faucets (12) such as those utilized to dispense kegged beer and the like. The system (10) incorporates an elongated valve stem (14) which protrudes from the proximal end (38) of the faucet body (12) and is provided with an axial end bore (66) having pin threads (68) therein. A lock subassembly (18) actuated by a key (20) attaches to the valve stem (14) by a threaded driver pin (118) which engages the pin threads (66). A case cylinder (80) encloses the engagement position and overlaps a portion of the faucet body (12) such that antirotation ears (113) prevent relative rotation and loosening of the engagement except when the key (20) is utilized. When tightened, the lock subassembly (18) forces the valve stem (14) into a closed position, preventing opening of the faucet and dispensing of beverages.

Locking system for beverage taps

A door security device (10) is provided for effectively locking a door (22) that has been partially opened. The device (10) includes a base plate (12) that is screwed onto a door frame (14), a first hinge plate (16) that is connected to the base plate (12) at a first hinge joint (56), a second hinge plate (18) that is similarly connected to the first hinge plate (16) at a second hinge joint (64), and a door plate (20) that is mounted on the door (22) and which incorporates a pair of hinge ears (92 and 94) between which is received a uniquely shaped hinge tongue (90) that is present at the end of the second hinge plate (18). A latch pin (24) that is also uniquely shaped, is insertable, when the door (22) is in a closed position, into ear bores (104 and 106) and a tongue bore (102) that are present within the hinge ears (92 and 94) and hinge tongue (90) to form a third hinge joint (108). The shape of the hinge tongue (90) and the interaction thereof with a biasing ramp (96) lying between the hinge ears (92 and 94) is such that as the door (22) is opened and the hinge tongue (90) rotates, the ear bores (104 and 106) and tongue bore (102) are forced out of axial alignment. When this occurs, a narrow barrel portion (134) of the latch pin (24) still permits hinging action, while upper and lower stops (130 and 132) present on the latch pin (24) provide that the latch pin (24) is locked into place, thereby preventing removal of the latch pin (24) by an intruder.

Door security device

A hand-held electronic receiver for detecting pulses of high magnitude and short duration in an electrical circuit, including an inductive pick-up coil, an electrical signaller, an electrical power supply for the signaller, and an electronic trigger responsive to electrical pulses induced in the pick-up coil for effecting energization of the signaller from the power supply. There is a manually-adjustable control including a circuit responsive to pulsed energy, bridging the pick-up coil for bleeding off portions of induced pulses from the coil, thereby to enable a selective control of resultant output from the coil to be had.

A broadcast two-way radio communication system has a plurality of transmit/receive stations which function as repeaters. Each of the stations has a corresponding geographically defined operation zone. A mobile radio transmits a request for use of a communication channel. Along with this request, the mobile radio provides its geographic location, which is derived from equipment located in conjunction with the mobile radio. Upon receipt of the channel request and geographic location for a mobile radio, the control computer system determines the requesting mobile radio is a member of a zone restricted user group. If so, the mobile radio is allocated a channel, if available, in the restricted zone of the mobile radio. Should no channel be available at the restricted zone, the system attempts to allocate a channel from a station which has radio propagation overlap that extends into the restricted zone. If, however, the mobile radio is located outside the zone of the requesting mobile radio, the request is ignored. By allocating channels to restricted mobile radios only in the restricted or adjacent zones there are fewer channels allocated for the request, thereby eliminating excess channel allocations and utilization of interconnecting network trunks.

Radio channel allocation based on location of mobile users

A mobile radio programmed to analyze idle channel assignments issued by a repeater station and select different channels, if appropriate, which are especially adapted for communicating with other communication facilities, such as a telephone interconnect. Programmed into the mobile radio with each communication channel is an indication of whether or not such channel can be utilized to communicate with the other communication facility. If communications are desired with the other communication facility, and if the present idle channel assigned by the repeater station does not permit such communication, then a processor in the mobile radio consults a data list of appropriate channels, selects one such channel, and then establishes communications to the other communication facility on such channel.

Automatic channel selection in a mobile radio for telephone interconnect

An electrical circuit identification means for identifying a particular circuit while the latter is normally energized and functioning, said means being usable with a plurality of energized circuits leading to different remote locations in an electrical installation such as a building structure or other facility, where the circuits originate at an energy distribution network that has fuses, circuit breakers or the like adapted to render the circuits dead or unenergized. A portable electrical load device is provided, to be applied to a designated circuit at the remote location where it is to be worked on, said device including a circuit controller or interrupter activated and powered by current from the circuit, so as to periodically interrupt or vary the current passing through the load and thereby cause electrical pulses or surges therein. At the central distribution center, a clip-on meter or other inductive pick-up device is magnetically linked onto the leads of the various circuits that are present, until it shows a reading of the current variations which are being generated by the remote applied load and its controller. The circuit showing such variations is the desired circuit, and can then be disconnected by removing the fuse or opening the breaker, as the case may be.
