An air liftable emergency evacuation frame is for transporting an injured person to an immediate medical aid. The evacuation frame comprises an elongated support structure that includes a support member assembly having a longitudinally extending pair of opposing poles. The support member assembly is configured to interconnect the pair of opposing poles to define a recessed area to place the injured person. A plurality of supporting means attached at a lower portion of the pair of opposing poles is adaptable to hold the elongated support structure when the emergency evacuation frame is placed on a surface with the injured person. At least one hole is employed at an upper portion of at least one of the pair of opposing poles to hold a detachable intravenous stand. The detachable intravenous stand allows a rescuer to hang an intravenous bag for providing a better flow of fluids.

Disclosed is a low cost, disposable, infusion pump. The infusion pump can include an integrated occlusion detector that detects both upstream and downstream occlusions in an infusion tube. In addition, the infusion pump can easily monitor flow rates through the infusion tube, and be quickly set to infuse at a pre-determined rate. An armature within the infusion pump works in concert with a pair of tubing pinchers to precisely control the movement of fluid within the tubing. Sensors mounted within the device detect the position of the armature and can determine if an occlusion has occurred in the tubing.

Low cost disposable infusion pump

A method and system for point of sale consumer packaged goods and lottery promotions. A discount coupon is generated having two barcodes. The first barcode encodes standard UPC barcode data including, e.g., manufacturer ID, retail product or a retail product family, and discount value code. The second barcode encodes a FreePlay identifier code. A POS system scans the barcodes and the FreePlay identifier code is recognized. Based on this, the consumer is offered a choice of a Lottery FreePlay coupon in lieu of the discount on the retail product. When the consumer accepts the choice of a Lottery FreePlay coupon, a Lottery FreePlay coupon is printed for the consumer in lieu of giving the consumer a discount on the retail product. The Lottery FreePlay coupon is redeemable at an authorized lottery booth for a lottery ticket having a purchase price based on the discount value code.

Described herein is an infusion pump with an integrated permanent magnet. The permanent magnet is positioned to provide an attractive force that moves an armature to compress a fluid-filled infusion tube. An electromagnet can be activated to overcome the attractive force of the permanent magnet and move the armature away from the infusion tubing. The force required to overcome the permanent magnet is much less than the force required to compress the tubing. For this reason the infusion pump has very low power consumption since much of the pumping work is provided by the permanent magnet.

Disclosed is a boiler apparatus useful for the heating of living and working spaces. The disclosed boiler apparatus incorporates a burner element and controller element that cooperate to provide a modulated firing rate. The modulated firing rate serves to increase the efficiency of the disclosed boiler apparatus. The boiler apparatus of the invention incorporates a heat exchanger and a combustion system. In operation, the control element collects and analyzes information from a multiplicity of sensors in order to modulate the firing rate of the burner element so as to maintain a selected output temperature for the water being heated. This monitoring activity by the control element also avoids short cycling of the boiler apparatus of the invention. The boiler apparatus of the invention also includes an indicator light that provides a visual indication the invention's operational status.

A small, portable infusion device for ambulatory use by a patient includes an audible enunciator integrated circuit chip. This chip is controlled by a microprocessor to provide output data to an operator, and to work in place of, or in association with a visual output display, such as an LCD screen. The audible data output permits a remote clinician to monitor operation of the pump, and diagnose and correct problems with the pump's operation.
