A device, system, and method performs a camera driven background subtraction. The method being performed at an electronic device includes receiving information corresponding to an image-capturing device that is capturing an image. The method includes automatically selecting one of a plurality of image analysis mechanisms based upon the information. The method includes receiving the captured image captured by the image-capturing device. The method includes performing an image analysis using the selected image analysis mechanism on the captured image to determine a foreground and a background in the captured image.

Device and method for camera driven background subtraction

A number of adjacent regions in input video and a corresponding number of adjacent regions in output video are defined. The adjacent regions are defined so that they span the path of motion of a subject as it moves across a scene in the input and output video. For each region, a plurality of sequential region frames defining video within the region are captured. For each region, playback of the captured plurality of sequential region frames is provided in a substantially continuous loop. The playback of the captured plurality of sequential frames defining video within each region is positioned in the output video adjacent the playback of the captured plurality of sequential frames defining video within an adjacent region in the output video so that the combined effect of the adjacent regions of played-back video is to provide output video that spans the scene.

A system for predicting object location includes a video capture system for capturing a plurality of video frames, each of the video frames having a first area, an object isolation element for locating an object in each of the plurality of video frames, the object being located at a first actual position in a first video frame and being located at a second actual position in a second video frame, and a trajectory calculation element configured to analyze the first actual position and the second actual position to determine an object trajectory, the object trajectory comprising past trajectory and predicted future trajectory, wherein the predicted future trajectory is used to determine a second area in a subsequent video frame in which to search for the object, wherein the second area is different in size than the first area.

System and method for predicting object location

Sports objects, such as players and their equipment, are tracked by receiving signals transmitted by tags attached to the sports objects, and triangulating the signals to estimate the locations of the sports objects. One feature that promotes good signal reception is the use of different groups of three or more receivers. Another such feature is the use of two or more transmitter tags attached to different portions of the sports object. Still another such feature is the use of Ultra-Wideband signals.
