A method for managing a wireless communication between an implantable medical device and at least two external devices includes associating the implantable medical device with a first external device so as to enable communication between the first external device and the implantable medical device via a wireless connection, and activating a search mode of the implantable medical device. In the search mode, the implantable medical device wirelessly sends out an advertising message that indicates its availability for association with at least a second external device. A blocking mode of the first external device is activated in response to the activation of the search mode of the implantable medical device. In the blocking mode, the first external device is disconnected from the implantable medical device and does not attempt to connect with the implantable medical device.

Method for managing a wireless communication between an implantable medical device and at least two external devices

A method for waking up an implantable medical device from a dormant state, an implantable medical device, and a system that includes such an implantable medical device and an external device. The implantable medical device is woken up from a dormant state by sending a modulated wakeup signal via a wireless link from an external device. The modulated wakeup signal is demodulated by way of a demodulator circuitry of the implantable medical device so as to produce a demodulated wakeup signal. The demodulator circuitry is permanently ready for operation. An awake state of the implantable medical device is then activated in response to the demodulated wakeup signal.

Method for waking up an implantable medical device from a dormant state, implantable medical device, and system comprising such an implantable medical device and an external device

A patient device (PD) for wireless data communication with an implant. The PD can be at least in an unpaired state or a paired state. In the paired state the PD is paired to a specific implant specified by an implant's identification code (IIC). The IIC is stored in PD memory. Automatic pairing of the PD to a specific implant is performed upon receiving an incoming data packet containing an IIC when the PD is in its unpaired state with no valid IIC stored in memory. Thus, the PD is tentatively paired to an implant identified by the IIC contained in the incoming data packet by storing the IIC in the memory. Tentative pairing is cancelled if no further communication occurs within a predetermined period of time. A soft paired state is entered if further data communication does occur.

Patient device for bidirectional data communication with an implant

A system and method for monitoring vehicle tire pressure. A tire pressure monitor for each tire includes a pressure sensor for sensing tire pressure and a transmitter for transmitting a tire pressure signal representative of the sensed tire pressure. A receiver for mounting on the vehicle receives the tire pressure signals, and includes an antenna to be located at a vehicle site. Each tire pressure signal has an amplitude and, for each tire location, the amplitude has a unique pattern over time for the antenna site. A controller for mounting on the vehicle communicates with the receiver and collects and processes the tire pressure signals to automatically identify the tire location associated with each tire pressure signal based on the unique amplitude patterns. The controller further generates control signals for use in conveying tire pressure and location information to a vehicle occupant.
