An adjustable panel leg system in a low-profile design includes a foot, an upright leg for supporting an object such as a panel, and an upright adjustment mechanism disposed above the foot and between the foot and the upright leg to enable adjustment of the angle of the upright leg with respect to the foot. The upright adjustment mechanism may include a horizontal pin extending through a portion of the upright leg, such that the upright leg can pivot about the pin with respect to the foot. The upright adjustment mechanism may also include a tubular support extending upwardly from the foot. A portion of the upright leg extends into the opening of the tubular support. The pin extends through the tubular support and the portion of the upright leg such that the leg can pivot within the tubular support.

An upright space-dividing wall panel is provided having an internal frame and a top cap attached to a top rail of the frame. The top cap includes a lengthwise channel in which threaded fasteners are slidably received for engaging the top cap to the frame rail. The top cap further includes side channels which cooperate with coupling brackets for securing a second panel to the wall panel. Further, a locator clip arrangement is provided between the top cap and a side trim cover on the end of the wall panel for precisely locating the trim cover relative to the top cap.

A dowel assembly for a furniture system provides a fastener usable in assembling various components in a furniture system. The dowel may be employed to define the relationship between first and second components of the furniture system, such as the relationship between adjoining planar surfaces of adjacent furniture panels. The dowel is fitted with a cam such that the cam provides a non-uniform radius at the interface between the dowel and one of the components. Through selective positioning of the cam about the longitudinal axis of the dowel, the interface between components of the furniture system may be selectively adjusted to ensure flush alignment of contiguous surfaces.

A cover tile for releasable cooperation with one side of a wall panel frame. The cover tile has elongate rails fixed to the rear side thereof so that the rail ends terminate adjacent corners of the tile. A pair of connector clips are engaged on the rail for disposition at the corners of the tile. Each connector clip includes a main channel-like body transversely slidably engaged on the rail, and this body has a transversely protruding spring or hook projection for cooperation with an opening in the panel frame. The main body of the clip, in one of the legs of the channel-shaped body, has a transversely deformed positioning tab adapted for cooperation with a positioning notch formed in the rail. The one leg also has a locking tab deformed transversely for cooperation with an edge formed on the respective rail to fixedly positionally secure the clip on the rail in the transverse direction thereof.
