A medical traction system provides an elongate track having a slide with a handle so that tensioning of the strap can be performed directly on the slide with improved tension sensitivity. The slide provides a cam mechanism with low back-travel automatically locking the slide when tension is released permitting one-handed operation.

The present invention provides a fixture that may be releasably attached to the operating table to apply two countervailing forces to the leg on opposite sides of the knee. These forces permit the application of a precise and stable torque to the knee joint. In one embodiment, the fixture may be repositioned and fixed with respect to the operating table through the surgical drape without penetration of the surgical drape.

A surgical support system provides a set of paddles receivable by a pegboard to provide larger area skin-supporting surfaces as stabilized by a pair of pegs received in the pegboard. The paddles may be primarily constructed of an autoclavable radiolucent polymer with short aluminum pegs in their lower ends for being received in the pegboard.

A surgical support attaches to a surgical table by means of mounting plates and base plates that may communicate through a surgical drape without puncturing the surgical drape. The base plates may be attached to the surgical table by means of a pegboard or by direct clamping of the base plates to a side of the surgical table underneath the surgical drape.

The invention relates to rehabilitation systems and methods for providing therapy to individuals who have suffered a stroke or other neurological insult. A rehabilitation system may comprise a depth sensing camera positioned to view a workspace into which a patient's hands may be located, a display system viewable by the patient, and an electronic computer executing a stored program to display a representation of a virtual space holding at least one virtual object, display a representation of at least one hand of the patient, and monitor a virtual manipulation of the virtual object by the patient's hand. Other embodiments may include virtual reality goggles, head motion tracking, various exercises and of varying difficulty, tracking metrics and recording for subsequent playback.
