Provided is a method of treating or lessening the severity of pain in a subject, comprising administering to the subject a compound of formula (I), defined as described herein, or a pharmaceutically acceptable salt thereof.

Method of treating pain

A combination material can be infused into a subject and a determination can be made of a VOD and/or a convection gradient of a liquid material portion in the VOD. The combination material can be infused in the subject using selected parameters. A correlation of data relating to the liquid material can be made to a selected material to determine parameters for infusion the selected material.

Method to determine a material distribution

A system and method for determining, planning, and/or administering a therapy of a selected material from a catheter to a selected specific region of an anatomy is disclosed. The catheter can be used to deliver a drug to the patient to achieve a volume of efficacy (VOE) within a selected target, region, or volume. The drug delivered can be used for treating at least a symptom in the patient.

Method to determine distribution of a material by an infused magnetic resonance image contrast agent

This invention provides treatment compositions as well as systems and methods of determining and administering an effective amount of treatment for a neurological disorder. The treatment composition can contain a labeled interfering RNA (iRNA) agent capable of decreasing expression of a target RNA associated with the neurological disorder. The methods of the invention include determining an effective amount of a therapeutic composition by introducing a solution containing a tracer into the brain of a mammal. The tracing solution is monitored until a target volume of distribution at steady state distribution is substantially achieved, and the rate of delivery of the therapeutic composition is determined. The therapeutic composition can then be administered at the rate determined by use of the tracing solution.

Treatment of neurological disorders

When delivering a therapy to a patient, such as a drug to a brain of a patient, an optimized delivery point can be selected. The optimized point can be based on physics, physiology, and pharmacology. The optimized point can be used for planning a surgical navigation procedure.
