Tissue repair systems which use knotless all-suture anchors and have the ability to lock multiple repair sutures within the anchor construct. The anchor construct includes a tension suture wrapped or looped upon itself to create an open eyelet, through which multiple repair sutures originating in soft tissue are passed. The location of the eyelet may be anywhere inside the all-suture anchor or adjacent to the exterior of the anchor body. Tensioning of the tension suture causes the eyelet to restrict movement of the repair sutures and secures them within or against the anchor body.

Tissue repair assembly and system with soft anchoring implant

A suture passer which is sized and shaped to be inserted through the femoral notch during a meniscal repair. The suture passer includes upper and lower jaws that may be straight or that may have an angled offset in relation to the common axis of the suture passer in order to gain an indirect access to meniscal tissue in a constricted space. The jaws of the suture passer may be angled, either to the left or to the right, up to 45 degrees from the central axis of the shaft. The suture passer is also able to grasp meniscal tissue prior to suture passing. A nitinol needle housed within one of the jaws can then be deployed to pass a preloaded suture through the tissue to be captured on the opposite side of the tissue.

Angled suture passer and method of use thereof

A knotless anchor for attachment of tissue to bone includes a rigid anchor body and a suture extending there from. The suture is hollow and includes a fixed limb portion secured to the rigid anchor body. A soft suture tunnel extends in a longitudinal direction through the fixed limb portion of the suture. A free suture limb is passed through the tissue, back to the anchor, and through the soft suture tunnel, thereby creating a closable suture loop around the tissue. Tension applied to the free suture limb closes the suture loop, and approximates the tissue to the anchor body. When the anchor is deployed in a bone hole, external features of the anchor body grip the walls of the bone hole and simultaneously compress the suture, thereby preventing tissue pull-out. Anchor assemblies and methods of tissue fixation are also disclosed.

Microanchors for knotless tissue repair

A suturing device for grasping soft tissue and placing stitches in soft tissue during endoscopic procedures is described. An elongate housing with a stationary jaw and a movable jaw disposed at the distal end are configured for grasping and releasing soft tissue. A movable needle disposed within the housing is actuated to engage a length of suture and drive the suture into and through the grasped soft tissue. A suture capture member is disposed on the movable jaw and is configured to allow passage of the needle therethrough while securing a portion of the stitched length of suture.

Suture passer

A tissue fixation device for securing soft tissue to bone includes an expandable outer sheath, and an inner screw in threaded cooperation with the sheath. The expandable sheath comprises opposing walls in hinged engagement. When the screw is inserted into in the sheath, the walls pivot outwardly about a distal hinge to compress a tissue graft against the bone hole, and to lock the device therein. An optional cortical button is secured across the bone hole entrance, and tethered to the fixation device to bolster fixation.

Fixation device and tissue fixation method for ACL reconstruction

In repairing soft tissue with a bone anchoring instrument (such as reattaching a tendon of a torn rotator cuff), the bone anchoring instrument may be used to anchor the soft tissue to a region of bone. The anchors inserted into the underlying bone may have one or more lengths of suture or wire attached thereto which may be tensioned independently of one another to affix the soft tissue to the bone by having a selector mechanism selectively engage and disengage ratcheted tensioning wheels from one another. Suture loading mechanisms may be employed for passing suture lengths into and/or through the anchors prior to deployment into the bone where such mechanisms may employ suture snares which are configured to reconfigure from an expanded shape through which suture lengths may be easily passed to a low-profile shape which secures the suture lengths within the snare.

Independent suture tensioning and snaring apparatus

A suture anchor device and method for attaching soft tissue to bone includes an anchor body and a suture locking wedge movably disposed within the anchor body. The suture locking wedge includes lateral portions which engage slots or windows in the anchor body. Tension applied to one limb of a suture causes the suture locking wedge to translate and rotate to a position which compresses the suture, thereby locking the suture in the anchor.

Method for soft tissue repair with free floating suture locking member

A suture anchor device and method for attaching soft tissue to bone includes an anchor body and a suture locking wedge movably disposed within the anchor body. Tension applied to one side of a suture causes the suture locking wedge to translate and rotate into a position which compresses the suture, thereby locking the suture in the anchor. A resilient or spring biasing member within the anchor device urges the suture locking wedge to compress the suture, facilitating suture locking.

Biased wedge suture anchor and method for soft tissue repair

A suture anchor device and method for attaching soft tissue to bone includes an anchor body and a suture locking wedge movably disposed within the anchor body. Tension applied to one side of a suture causes the suture locking wedge to move in a translational and angular dimension to a position which compresses the suture, thereby locking the suture in the anchor. The anchor body includes tracks or slots which guide the suture locking wedge from the unlocked open configuration to the locked configuration.
