In an example implementation consistent with the features disclosed herein, a computer-implemented method includes receiving a connection request from a client, connecting the client to a server in response to the connection request, identifying a disconnection from the client, and disconnecting the client from the server in response to the disconnection request. The method includes determining a time between the connection request and the disconnection. When the connection request and the disconnection is less than a threshold time, the method includes transmitting messaging and withholding the messaging until the connection request and the disconnection is greater than a threshold time.

Cloud connection state monitoring utilizing unstable connection state analysis

A network switching environment includes a network switch coupled to a port extension module by one or more network cables, and a management resource coupled to the switch and the port extension module. The configurations of the network switch and the port extension module may be dynamically controlled by a management resource to adjust to changes in the maximum bandwidth provided by the one or more network cables. The management resource may implement the network switch and port extension module configurations according to a predetermined target configuration and the connection configuration of the network switch and the port extension module.

Speed determination for network ports

Some implementations of the disclosure are directed to an interconnect including: a plurality of ports; a processor; and a non-transitory computer readable medium have instructions stored thereon, that when executed by a processor, cause the interconnect device to: track a link state of a first port of the plurality of ports, where tracking the link state of the first port comprises tracking when a physical link of the first port transitions between a linked state and an unlinked state; determine, using at least the tracking of when the physical link of the first port transitions between the linked state and the unlinked state, that the first port is in an unstable link state; and when the first port is in an unstable link state, transmitting a message to an interconnect management device, the message including an indication that the first port is in an unstable link state.

Interconnect port link state monitoring utilizing unstable link state analysis

Systems and methods for distributed configuration of one or more network interface cards (NICs) are disclosed. An exemplary method comprises issuing a request frame including at least a current configuration generation for the NICs from a host computing device to a network device. The method also comprises returning at least one configuration frame including a newer network configuration for the NICs from the network device to the host computing device. The method also comprises configuring the NICs at the host computing device with the newer network configuration.

Distributed configuration of network interface cards

A configurable device may be disclosed herein that is capable of multiple configurations depending on its location within a support structure. Some embodiments comprise a system that includes a configurable device located within a support structure and logic that is adapted to determine the location of the configurable device within the support structure and to inform the configurable device of its location. The configurable device may compare its location as informed by the logic to a previous location value stored in the configurable device. The configurable device may load a first configuration if the locations match or load a second configuration if the locations do not match.

Configurable device replacement

A network comprising a first electronic device associated with a first profile that uniquely identifies the first electronic device on the network. The network also comprises a second electronic device coupled to the first electronic device. The first profile is migrated to the second electronic device such that the first electronic device is no longer associated with the first profile and such that the first profile uniquely identifies the second electronic device on the network.
