A personal base station (PBS) having wireless video capability. The PBS authenticates a mobile device within range for cellular services, and authenticates the user for a level of service for cable television. The PBS operates in accordance with a dual-purpose subscriber identity system (SIS) includes a subscriber mobile identity component (SMIC) and a video security component (VSC) such that the cellular and television services can be authenticated. Mobile devices incorporating the disclosed innovations, as well as the PBS, can access video content from a cable television provider through any available broadband link, regardless of the mobile device's physical location.

Personal base station system with wireless video capability

A system is described that can perform a method for providing a first mobile network operator system with information relating to configuration data. The configuration data enables management of content and memory allocation for security domain containers of a universal integrated circuit card of a communication device. Security management of the universal integrated circuit card is delegated by providing the configuration data to a second mobile network operator system to enable management of the content and the memory allocation for the security domain containers. The memory allocation is adjusted by the second network mobile operator system according to a second group of services provided to the communication device.

Methods for provisioning universal integrated circuit cards

A system is described that can perform a method for receiving a request to modify a universal integrated circuit card, generating a package comprising configuration data for modifying the universal integrated circuit card, instructing an over-the-air system to transmit the package encrypting the package with a transport key to generate an encrypted package, and transmitting the encrypted package to a communication device communicatively coupled to the universal integrated circuit card to provision the universal integrated circuit card. The system can also perform a method of providing a mobile network operator trusted service manager system information relating to the configuration data to enable the mobile network operator trusted service manager system to manage content and memory allocation of the universal integrated circuit card.

A system that incorporates teachings of the subject disclosure may include, for example, a method storing, at an integrated circuit card including at least one processor, parametric information descriptive of operational features of a plurality of software applications, where the plurality of software applications when executed makes use of services provided by equipment of a first network operator. The method can further include detecting, at the integrated circuit card, an event indicating that the plurality of software applications are to utilize services provided by equipment of a second network operator, and causing, from the integrated circuit card, a transmission of the parametric information descriptive of the operational features of the plurality of software applications to the equipment of the second network operator. Other embodiments are disclosed.

Systems for provisioning universal integrated circuit cards

Utilizing a network service interface function within a machine-to-machine common service layer is presented herein. A method can comprise determining network configuration information for network devices coupled to a set of distributed remote devices; receiving a device request directed to a remote device of the set of distributed remote devices; determining, based on the network configuration information, a network interface for facilitating performance of the device request; and sending, via the network interface, command information corresponding to the device request directed to the remote device. In an example, in response to determining that a traffic load of a communication channel associated with the remote device satisfies a defined condition with respect to an increased loading of such channel, the method can comprise sending a message to request delay of the device request if the device request has been determined to be a non-priority request.
