Methods and apparatus are disclosed for a heat source for a hydrogen fuel supply system of a turbine engine. An example apparatus includes a heat source configured to burn gaseous hydrogen to produce heat energy and a byproduct of combustion, a pipeline to transport gaseous hydrogen from a hydrogen supply to the heat source, a vent coupled to the heat source to vent excess gaseous hydrogen and the byproduct of combustion, and a heat exchanger coupled to the heat source to use the heat energy of the heat source to heat liquid hydrogen in the pipeline.

Example thermal management system include: a thermal transport bus loop fluidly coupled to at least one heat source exchanger and at least one heat sink exchanger; a turbomachine including a turbine and a compressor, the turbine and compressor rotatably interlocked via a shaft, the compressor coupled to the thermal transport bus loop, the turbine including an inlet and an outlet, the inlet connected to a first point of the thermal transport bus loop via a first flowline, the outlet connected to a second point of the thermal transport bus loop via a second flowline; and a control valve coupled to the first flowline, the control valve to adjust a mass flowrate of the heat exchange fluid in the first flowline based on a speed of the shaft.

Example split valves for regulating a first flowrate and a second flowrate of a fluid within a closed loop systems are disclosed herein. An example split valve includes an electrohydraulic servo valve coupled to a first piston via a first hydraulic flowline and a second hydraulic flowline, the first piston to include a piston shaft, a first head, and a second head; one or more bellows fixed to at least one of the first head or the second head, the one or more bellows to hermetically seal the fluid from a hydraulic fluid; and a control system connected to the electrohydraulic servo valve, the control system to adjust the first flowrate and the second flowrate of the fluid through a first fluid chamber, the first piston to be located in the first fluid chamber.

An example gas turbine system includes an intercooler disposed between at a fan and at least a portion of a compressor, and at least one conduit to define a flow path to convey fluid, the flow path including a first portion and a second portion, the first portion of the flow path to carry the fluid to or through the intercooler, the second portion of the flow path to carry the fluid at least partially around at least one of a low-pressure turbine or an exhaust section downstream of a combustor.

A fuel supply system for a turbine engine that provides a modulated thrust control malfunction accommodation (TCMA) is disclosed. An example fuel supply system includes a fuel supply line to supply fuel to a combustion engine, a fuel metering valve coupled to the fuel supply line, the fuel metering valve to control a flow of fuel through the fuel supply line to the combustion engine, a throttle valve coupled to the fuel supply line downstream of the fuel metering valve, the throttle valve to bleed off fuel supplied to the combustion engine based on a pressure difference across the fuel metering valve, and a controllable servo coupled to the throttle valve, the controllable servo to control the throttle valve based on a sensor output indicative of the pressure difference.

Modulating fuel for a turbine engine

A fuel delivery system for a gas turbine engine includes a fuel tank; a draw pump downstream of the fuel tank for generating a liquid fuel flow from the fuel tank; a main fuel pump downstream of the draw pump; and a fuel oxygen conversion unit downstream of the draw pump and upstream of the main fuel pump. The fuel oxygen conversion unit includes a stripping gas line; a contactor in fluid communication with the stripping gas line and the draw pump for forming a fuel/gas mixture; and a dual separator pump in fluid communication with the contactor for receiving the fuel/gas mixture and separating the fuel/gas mixture into a stripping gas flow and the liquid fuel flow at a location upstream of the main fuel pump.

A fuel system for a vehicle having an engine is provided. The fuel system including: a fuel tank for holding a hydrogen fuel in a liquid phase; a fuel delivery assembly extending from the fuel tank to the engine for providing the hydrogen fuel from the fuel tank to the engine; a vaporizer in communication with the fuel delivery assembly for heating the hydrogen fuel in the liquid phase to a gaseous phase, to a supercritical phase, or both; and a high pressure pump in fluid communication with the fuel delivery assembly at a location downstream of the vaporizer for inducing a flow of the hydrogen fuel through the fuel delivery assembly to the engine.

Hydrogen fuel system

A fuel supply system for a turbine engine that provides a modulated thrust control malfunction accommodation (TCMA). The fuel supply system can include a fuel line that fluidly connects a fuel tank and the turbine engine. A fuel pump and a fuel metering valve can be fluidly connected to the fuel line. A bypass line can fluidly connect to the fuel line. Flow through the bypass line can be controlled using a bypass valve and a balancing pressure valve. The TCMA can then modulate the fuel flow using the valves.

A method and device is capable of amplitude, phase, polarization shear, wavelength, and diversity measurement along a common path by using a sampling device to get a sparse sampled optical field. The sampled field is fed to a diversity generator device. The diversity generator device generates the diversity information associated with each sample/element of the sparse input in empty space provided by sampling. The diversity information may consist of phase-shifted copies of the input sample having known/device dependent relative phases, amplitudes, polarization, shear, or wavelength with respect to their originating sample. The geometry of the fan out allows overlap between part or all different diversity copies (originating from the same or from different samples) thus making the method interferometric.
