An improved well completion system for completing two or more separate production zones in a well bore during a single downhole trip is disclosed. The improved completion system comprises a completion assembly comprising two or more production zone assemblies and a completion tool assembly. Each production zone assembly may comprise an automatic system locating assembly and at least two inverted seal systems for sealing against the tool assembly.

Multi-zone, single trip well completion system and methods of use

A method for completing a well in a single trip, including: inserting a completion tool assembly into the well, the completion tool assembly having a gravel packing assembly and a service tool assembly slidably positioned substantially within an interior cavity in the gravel packing assembly; removably coupling the service tool assembly and the gravel packing assembly; plugging at a first location, whereby fluid is blocked from flowing through the interior channel; diverting fluid blocked by the plugging at the first location through a first fluid flow path to an exterior of the completion tool assembly; circulating a gravel pack slurry through the completion tool assembly; plugging at a second location, whereby fluid is blocked from flowing through the interior channel; diverting fluid blocked by the plugging at the second location through a second flow path that reenters the interior channel at a location distal of the first and second plugging locations; and circulating a filter cake stimulating fluid through the well completion assembly.

Single trip horizontal gravel pack and stimulation system and method

A method for completing a well in a single trip is described, which includes inserting a completion tool assembly into the wellbore. The completion tool assembly includes a gravel packing assembly having a central channel substantially therethrough and a service tool assembly slidably positioned within the central channel. The service tool includes a pressure pulsating rotating jetting tool, connectable to a washpipe via a differential valve. By selectively dropping a plurality of plugging devices into the completion tool, multiple operations may be selectively performed in the wellbore in a single trip. In this way, the gravel packing and stimulating operations may be performed by a single completion tool assembly in a single trip into the wellbore, thus reducing the cost and time for performing the gravel packing and stimulating operations.

The present invention provides a bi-directional ball seat and method of use. In at least one embodiment, the present invention provides a fluid control system that includes a radial protrusion that can be selectively engaged and disengaged upstream and/or from a ball seat. For example, a ball can be placed in a passageway, engaged with a downstream ball seat, and the radial protrusion radially extended into the passageway distally from the seat relative to the ball. A reverse movement of the ball is restricted by the active radial movement of the radial protrusion into the passageway. The control system can be used to control a variety of tools associated with the well. Without limitation, the tools can include crossover tools, sleeves, packers, safety valves, separators, gravel packers, perforating guns, decoupling tools, valves, and other tools know to those with ordinary skills in the art.

Bi-directional ball seat system and method

A method of perforating and gravel packing a wellbore casing, having the following steps: (1) making-up to a pipe string: a packer, a screen, and a perforating apparatus; (2) running-in the pipe string until the perforating apparatus is at a depth of intended perforations; (3) setting the perforating apparatus in the wellbore casing at a depth of intended perforations; and (4) disconnecting the screen and perforating apparatus from the pipe string. A system for perforating and gravel packing a wellbore casing, having: a packer which is mechanically communicable with a service string: a screen in mechanical communication with the packer; a perforating apparatus in mechanical communication with the screen, wherein the screen and perforating apparatus are detachable from the packer; and a tool having at least one casing engaging slip segment, wherein the tool is matable with the perforating apparatus, and wherein the tool is settable in the wellbore casing.

Rigless one-trip perforation and gravel pack system and method

A method and apparatus for controlling fluid flow in a well bore is provided. A base pipe having an outer surface and an inner bore is provided. A first screen jacket is placed therearound. A second screen jacket is positioned adjacent the first screen jacket around the base pipe. An annular space is defined between the outer surface of the base pipe and each screen jacket. A sleeve is disposed between the adjacent screen jackets and an isolated fluid flow path is created between the annular space defined by the first screen jacket and the annular space defined by the second screen jacket.

Method and apparatus for controlling fluid flow in a well

The present invention relates to a pressure actuated valve for use in well completion assemblies. The valve is operable by pressure between three configurations. In a first configuration, the valve is in a locked-closed configuration. In a second configuration, the valve remains closed but is unlocked. In a third configuration, the valve is open. Also disclosed is a method of installing and operating a three pressure actuated valve in a well completion operation.

An isolation system having: an isolation string, wherein the isolation string has a packing assembly which secures the isolation string in a wellbore casing, wherein the isolation string has a production screen which allows production fluid to pass into the isolation string; an isolation sleeve which slides within the isolation string between open and closed positions, wherein the open position allows fluid communication between the production screen and an interior portion of the isolation string and the closed position prevents fluid communication between the production screen and an interior portion of the isolation string, wherein the isolation sleeve comprises at least one isolation valve which is coupled within the isolation sleeve, wherein the at least one isolation valve is movable between open and closed positions; a locking device which locks and unlocks the isolation sleeve in an open position, wherein the locking device comprises a trigger that secures the isolation sleeve to the isolation string before the trigger is activated and releases the isolation sleeve from the isolation string after the trigger is activated, wherein the trigger comprises: a piston collar having a solid cylindrical portion attached to the isolation sleeve and a finger portion having at least one finger, wherein the at least one finger has a head at a distal end; and at least one recess in the isolation string, wherein the head of the at least one finger is engaged in the at least one recess; a cylindrically shaped pop lock positioned adjacent the head of the at least one finger so that the head is between the pop lock and the recess, wherein the pop lock secures the head relative to the recess; and a latch attached to the service tool which couples with the pop lock, wherein the trigger is activated by removing the pop lock from the position adjacent the head; and an activation tool which allows the isolation sleeve to move to a closed position, wherein the activation tool is a piston driven by a hydrostatic chamber which comprises lower pressure within the hydrostatic chamber than without, and wherein the piston moves the isolation sleeve from the open to the closed position.

Gravel pack isolation system

A system and method for perforating and gravel packing a wellbore casing in a single trip into the wellbore comprising a gravel packer assembly having a production screen and at least one packer. A perforating apparatus connected to the gravel packer assembly, wherein the perforating apparatus is detachable from the gravel packer assembly after the system is placed in the wellbore and before a detonation of the perforating apparatus. A tool having at least one casing engaging slip segment, wherein the tool is matable with the perforating apparatus and is settable in the wellbore casing.
