A system and method may include receiving data defining an augmented reality (AR) environment including a representation of a physical environment, identifying relationships between a plurality of scene elements in the AR environment, and obtaining a set of UI layout patterns for arranging the plurality of scene elements in the AR environment according to one or more relationships between the plurality of scene elements. The system and method may identify, for the at least one scene element, at least one relationship that corresponds to at least one UI layout pattern, generate a modified UI layout pattern for the at least one scene element using different relationships than the identified at least one relationship, and trigger display of the AR content associated with the information and the at least one scene element using the modified UI layout pattern.

Placement of objects in an augmented reality environment

A method includes: receiving, by a computing device, an input generated by a user touching a location on a touch-sensitive edge; determining whether a display contains a window split; when the display contains the window split, determining, in response to the input, whether the location is within a predefined proximity of the window split; when the location is within the predefined proximity of the window split, repositioning the window split on the display based on the input. When the display does not contain the window split, and when the location is not within the predefined proximity of the window split, a new window split can be created on the display, in response to the input, based on the location.

Controlling window using touch-sensitive edge

Methods, systems, and apparatus, including computer programs encoded on a computer storage medium, for providing contextual information for a notification. Logical relationships between panels for a user interface of the one or more computing devices are identified. A set of interface patterns that correspond to different logical relationships between panels and describe different spatial relationships for arranging panels having the corresponding logical relationships are obtained. At least one of the logical relationships between the panels for the user interface is determined to match a logical relationship corresponding to a particular interface pattern. The particular interface pattern is selected from among the set of interface patterns to specify the arrangement of the panels of the user interface. The user interface having the panels arranged in the user interface according to the particular interface pattern that is selected is provided.

Dynamically adapting panels of a user interface

Methods, systems, and apparatus, including computer programs encoded on a computer storage medium, for graphical icon manipulation. In one aspect, a method includes the actions of receiving a user input that corresponds to a selection of a graphical item that is located in a first portion of the graphical interface. The actions further include receiving a translation input that corresponds to a drag of the graphical item. The actions further include determining that a location of the selection input is in a second portion of the graphical interface. The actions further include updating the graphical item by providing, in place of the graphical item, a representation of a change to the graphical item based on the graphical item being placed in the second portion. The actions further include determining that the selection input has ceased. The actions further include providing, for output, the change to the graphical item.

Graphical icon manipulation

A device that holds a pitcher at a preselected angle of tilt while the pitcher is being filled with a beverage. Where beer is the beverage, the angle of tilt ensures that the beer will flow down the inner side walls of the pitcher, thereby suppressing the foam or head that would develop if the pitcher were charged while in an upright disposition. The weight of the beer as it gradually fills the pitcher gradually overcomes the bias that causes the initial tilting so that the head is continually suppressed throughout the charging operation and so that the pitcher is completely upright when filled. The device saves its user from having to hold a heavy pitcher at a tilted position throughout the charging process.
