Exemplary embodiments provide a fuser member containing an intermediate layer and methods for forming the intermediate layer and the fuser member. In one embodiment, the fuser member can include a substrate, a resilient layer, a surface layer and an intermediate layer disposed between the resilient layer (e.g., a silicone rubber layer) and the surface layer (e.g., a fluoroplastic of PFA or PTEE). The intermediate layer can include a CNT/polymer composite containing a plurality of carbon nanotubes in a polymer matrix. The surface layer and the fuser member can thus be treated at a temperature of about 250&#xb0; C. or higher.

A multilayer imaging blanket comprises a seamless belt. A silicone layer is disposed on the belt. The silicone layer comprises silicone rubber and a metal oxide filler. This disclosure is directed to a material composition that may be usable as a surface component in a plate design for use in variable data digital lithographic image forming devices. The disclosed material composition incorporates infra-red (IR) absorbing filler materials, including carbon black filler material particles in a fluorosilicone polymer or elastomer. The inclusion of the disclosed carbon black material compositions promotes precise heating in a patterning step for a layer of dampening fluid while minimizing harmful byproduct emissions including emissions of trifluoropropionaldehyde (TFPA) resulting from localized heating of a principally fluorosilicone imaging layer. The disclosed homogeneously-dispersed carbon black particles are particularly usable for improving operational characteristics of fluorosilocone-based reimageable surface layers of imaging members employed in the variable data digital lithographic image forming devices.

An inkjet printhead includes a front face having a polymer coating, the polymer coating including an oleophobic grafted polymer having a crosslinked fluoroelastomer and a perfluorinated fluorosilicone grafted to the crosslinked fluoroelastomer. The polymer coating has an ink contact angle of at least about 45 degrees and an ink slide angle of less than about 35 degrees.

The present teachings provide a fuser member. The fuser member includes a substrate layer. The substrate layer substrate layer includes a polyimide having dispersed therein a plurality of poly(p-phenylene benzobisthiazole) fibers. An intermediate layer is disposed on the substrate layer. A release layer is disposed on the intermediate layer.

An embodiment of the present disclosure is directed to an indirect printing apparatus. The indirect printing apparatus comprises an intermediate transfer member comprising a substrate and a surface layer disposed over the substrate. The surface layer comprises a fluoroelastomer-aminosilane grafted polymer and infrared absorptive filler materials. The indirect printing apparatus also comprises a coating mechanism for forming a sacrificial coating onto the intermediate transfer member and a drying station for drying the sacrificial coating. At least one ink jet nozzle is positioned proximate the intermediate transfer member and configured for jetting ink droplets onto the sacrificial coating formed on the intermediate transfer member. An ink processing station comprises a radiation source for at least partially drying the ink on the sacrificial coating formed on the intermediate transfer member. The indirect printing apparatus also comprises a substrate transfer mechanism for moving a substrate into contact with the intermediate transfer member.
