The downhole rotary slip ring joint, in one aspect, includes an outer mandrel, an inner mandrel operable to rotate relative to the outer mandrel, an outer mandrel communication connection coupled to the outer mandrel, and an inner mandrel communication connection coupled to the inner mandrel. The downhole rotary slip ring joint, according to this aspect, further includes a passageway extending through the outer mandrel and the inner mandrel, the passageway configured to provide continuous coupling between the outer mandrel communication connection and the inner mandrel communication connection regardless of a rotation of the inner mandrel relative to the outer mandrel, wherein the downhole rotary slip ring joint is operable to be coupled to a wellbore access tool.

An ETJ deployment tool (ETJDT) comprises a tool body comprising a central bore; at least one first component and at least one second component, each component operable to extend and retract laterally from the tool body, wherein the at least one second component is disposed at an axial distance from the at least one first component along the tool body; a member disposed within the central bore and operable to move forward upon receiving fluid; and a spring disposed axially between a portion of the member and the at least one second component.

A system for downhole separation of at least one of fluids or solids comprises a fluid flow diverter to be positioned downhole in a well. The fluid flow diverter is configured to receive a formation fluid in a multilayer flow structure that comprises a production fluid and a nonproduction fluid, wherein the fluid flow diverter is configured to separate the production fluid and the nonproduction fluid by being adjusted such that more of the production fluid is above the fluid flow diverter than below the fluid flow diverter and such that more of the nonproduction fluid is below the fluid flow diverter than above the fluid flow diverter.

A multilateral junction comprising a y-block, lateral legs, and a transition sub for use in downhole well environments. The y-block includes a main bore and lateral bores with main bore and the lateral bores having threaded interfaces. The transition sub also includes lateral bores with threaded interfaces for receiving the lateral legs that also have threaded interfaces. The threaded interfaces of the lateral bore of the y-block has a less number of threads than the threaded interfaces of the lateral bores of the transition sub. The lateral leg includes another threaded interface that couples with the threaded interface of the lateral bore. Another end of each lateral leg includes an interface, e.g. a threaded interface, which couples with an interface of a transition sub. The main bore has an internal diameter that is greater than the internal diameter of the lateral bore.

Provided is an inner string, an outer string, and a well system. The outer string, in one aspect, includes an outer tubular configured to extend at least partially around an inner tubular, the outer tubular including a seal surface. The outer string, according to one aspect, further includes two radial orientation slots located along an inside surface of the outer tubular, the two radial orientation slots offset from one another by a distance (d), the two radial orientation slots configured to align with an orientation port in the inner tubular that it is configured to engage with to provide two pressure readings indicative of a relative location of the inner tubular to the outer tubular.

The whipstock, in one aspect, includes a coupling section having a first radius of curvature, the coupling section configured to engage with a mill bit when running in hole. The whipstock, in accordance with this aspect, further includes a casing breakthrough section having a second radius of curvature, and a controlled exit section having a third radius of curvature, wherein the second radius of curvature is less than the third radius of curvature.

The y-block, in one aspect, includes a housing having a first end and a second opposing end, and a single first bore extending into the housing from the first end, the single first bore defining a first centerline. The y-block according to this aspect further includes second and third separate bores extending into the housing and branching off from the single first bore, the second bore defining a second centerline and the third bore defining a third centerline, wherein the second and third centerlines are angled relative to one another.

The inner string, in one aspect, includes an inner tubular including a sidewall having a thickness (t), the inner tubular having an orientation port extending entirely through the sidewall to provide fluid access from an interior of the inner tubular to an exterior of the inner tubular. The inner string, according to one aspect, further includes a weighted swivel located around the inner tubular, the weighted swivel including an orientation slot, the orientation slot configured to align with the orientation port to provide a pressure reading indicative of a relative location of the inner tubular to the weighted swivel.

A system includes a downhole tubular and a latch assembly securable to a conveyance that is configured to lower the latch assembly into a central bore of the downhole tubular. The latch assembly includes a tubular body portion, a plurality of latch keys secured to the tubular body portion, and at least one alignment feature secured to the tubular body portion. The system further includes a latch coupling formed on the downhole tubular. The latch coupling includes a plurality of key profiles configured to engage corresponding key profiles of the plurality of key profiles in response to proper angular orientation of the latch assembly with respect to the latch coupling. Additionally, the system includes at least one guide feature configured to rotate the latch assembly to angularly align the plurality of latch keys with the plurality of key profiles in response to contact with the at least one alignment feature.

The downhole tool, in one aspect, includes a first member, the first member having a first member inside diameter (ID), a first member outside diameter (OD), and a first member hardness value (HV), and a second member, the second member having a second member inside diameter (ID), a second member outside diameter (OD), and a second member hardness value (HV), the first and second members positioned proximate one another forming an overlapping space therebetween. The downhole tool according to this aspect, further includes a crack compliant seal positioned at the overlapping space and having a compliant seal hardness value (HV) less than or equal to one or more of the (HV) or (HV) and a high yield strength weld positioned at the overlapping space, the high yield strength weld having a yield strength of at least 50 ksi.

Provided is a downhole tool, a well system and a method. The downhole tool, in one aspect, includes a first member, the first member having a first member hardness value (HV), and a second member, the second member having a second member hardness value (HV), the first and second members positioned proximate one another forming an overlapping space therebetween. The downhole tool according to this aspect, further includes a mechanical strengthening feature located between the first member and the second member, the mechanical strengthening feature configured to increase an engineering rating of the overlapping space, and a crack compliant seal positioned at the overlapping space, the crack compliant seal having a compliant seal hardness value (HV) less than or equal to one or more of the (HV) or the (HV).

Provided is a sealing/anchoring subassembly, a well system, and method. The sealing/anchoring subassembly, in one aspect, includes a mandrel, as well as a sealing/anchoring element positioned about the mandrel, the sealing/anchoring element configured to move between a radially retracted state and a radially expanded state. The sealing/anchoring subassembly, according to this aspect, also includes a ratch latch body coupled to the sealing/anchoring element, the ratch latch body configured to hold the sealing/anchoring element in the radially expanded state. The ratch latch body, in one aspect, may include a stroke sleeve having a plurality of stroke sleeve teeth disposed thereon, and a base having a plurality of base teeth disposed thereon, the stroke sleeve teeth and the base teeth configured to directly ratchet along one another to hold the sealing/anchoring element in the radially expanded state.

A system can be used to connect downhole fiber optic wet mates. The system can include a first completion system and a second completion system. The first completion system can include a stinger sub-system that can include a first energy transfer line coupled to a first wet mate connector. The second completion system can include a deflector sub-system that can include a deflector positioned adjacent to a second wet mate connector that can be coupled with a second energy transfer line. The deflector can be positioned in the second completion system to deflect the stinger sub-system laterally outward to cause the second wet mate connector to couple with the first wet mate connector.
