Data processing apparatus operative to generate a classification component is disclosed. The data processing apparatus is configured to provide a template classifier bank comprising a plurality of classifier modules, each classifier module operative to receive training data comprising data elements having one of two or more known class affiliations and to output a class affiliation estimate value for each input data element. The data processing apparatus is further configured to derive a combination of the class affiliation estimate values providing a highest correlation to the two or more known class affiliations, and to generate a classification component formed of a resultant classifier bank comprising a combination of the plurality of classifier modules corresponding to the combination of estimate values providing the highest correlation.

Data processing apparatus and method for automatically generating a classification component

An apparatus for spatially correcting an image frame is disclosed. In some embodiments, the apparatus stores a frame of pixel values and scans a multi-pixel correction window across the frame. Spatial correction is performed on pixels within the window at correction positions during the scan. The spatial correction comprises estimating pixel values at value estimation positions based on one or more pixel values within the window for pixels satisfying a logical condition. The value estimation positions correspond to pixel values which do not fall within the window again during the scan. Further disclosed is an apparatus for detecting high-energy radiation, in which integration circuitry is used for integrating charge responsive to radiation photon interaction events. The circuits are controllable in accordance with an exposure control signal to vary an exposure window duration according to an operating parameter of the apparatus.

Apparatus and method for detecting high-energy radiation

An assembly () for monitoring ionising radiation comprises a detector substrate () for generating electronic charge responsive to incident ionising radiation, the detector substrate () having an array of ionising radiation sense volumes () formed in it. A circuit substrate () supporting an array of read-out circuits () corresponding to the array of sense volumes is mechanically and electrically coupled to the detector substrate (). Each of the read-out circuits () is switchable between first and second charge integration modes for receiving charge from a corresponding sense volume. A charge integration circuit () is configured in the first charge integration mode to integrate charge corresponding to sensing of a single ionising radiation detection event in a corresponding sense volume and in the second charge integrating mode to integrate charge corresponding to sensing a plurality of ionising radiation detection events in the corresponding sense volume.

Ionising radiation detector

A high-energy radiation detector apparatus, comprising a high-energy radiation detector substrate and a plurality of charge collection electrodes operatively coupled to first and second opposing sides of the detector substrate is disclosed. Charge collection circuitry is associated with the plurality of charge collection electrodes for collecting charge induced on the charge collection electrodes by a high energy radiation photon interaction event caused by high-energy radiation incident on the detector substrate.
