A container assembly having a cap with a channel and a base with protrusions on a collar. The protrusions are received in the channel and guide the cap in a rotating motion onto the base. The cap and base may have magnets that provide an attractive force that brings the cap and base together. The container in cosmetics applications is also discussed.

A quick release container is provided that includes a base having a base perimeter with a well configured to hold a product, and a lid assembly configured to be removably coupled to the base. The lid assembly includes a lid having: (i) an outer portion extending around a top of the base and having a height extending from the top of the base; and (ii) an inner portion extending between a perimeter of the outer portion and disposed over the well of the base. The lid assembly also includes a depressible element extending between the perimeter of the outer portion, spaced from the inner portion and configured to move along the height of the outer portion, and a clamping device coupled to the lid and removably coupled to the base.

Double well jar

A jar and lid assembly that includes a jar assembly configured to hold a product and a base configured to at least partially house the jar. The jar and lid assembly also includes a rotatable lid assembly pivotably coupled to the jar assembly and includes an outer lid portion and an inner lid portion. The rotatable lid assembly further includes a lid ring having: (i) a hinge portion configured to pivot on an axis of the base such that the rotatable lid assembly is pivotable relative to the jar assembly and (ii) a lid ring protruding portion disposed within the gap and a liner disposed on an underside of the inner lid portion and configured to contact the jar when the rotatable lid assembly is in a rotatably closed position. The outer lid portion and the inner lid portion are configured to be movable relative to the lid ring.

Cosmetic containers having multiple levels, a lid, and a base, in which the opening of the lid also provides access to at least first and second levels having one or more compartments for products and/or applicators. The base may contain a first level, and be coupled via a first linkage to a second level. The lid may be coupled by a pivot assembly to the base and to the second level by a second linkage. The overall assembly may allow access to both the first level and the second level on opening the lid.

A cap assembly having a clutch mechanism which permits independent rotation of a stemmed applicator when the cap is in a closed position and prevents rotation when the cap is removed. The cap assembly in combination with a housing, particularly for cosmetics applications, is also disclosed. The stemmed applicator may have shaft having a non-circular cross-section, when taken perpendicular to its longitudinal axis.

Cosmetic compact with twistable lid

A cosmetic compact includes a twistable lid assembly that spins relative to a base assembly about a hinge to change between an open and a closed position. The hinge is disposed in the cosmetic compact at an oblique angle that positions a top surface of the cosmetic compact to face a user after twisting open. The lid assembly is twistable by about 180 degrees relative to the base assembly of the cosmetic compact. By virtue of having the twistable lid assembly, the cosmetic compact is capable of simple and reliable opening. The twistable lid assembly also allows a mirror placed on the top surface of the compact to be useful in both a closed position and an open position.
