A process for preparing a divinylarene dioxide including the steps of: (a) feeding one or more feed streams of the following reactants into a reactor system: (i) at least one divinylarene, (ii) at least one oxidizing agent, and (iii) at least one solvent to form a reaction mixture in the reactor system; (b) continuously reacting together the one or more feed streams of the reactants of step (a) in the reaction mixture; and (c) controlling heat removal of the reaction mixture as the reactants of step (b) react together; wherein the heat removal is sufficient to provide a residence time of the reactants in the reaction mixture of less than about 180 minutes residence time of the reactants in the reaction step (b); and an apparatus for preparing a divinylarene dioxide.

Process and apparatus for producing divinylarene dioxide

A process for recovering a divinylarene dioxide from a crude feed stream comprising the steps of: (a) providing an effluent reaction stream containing at least one divinylarene dioxide product and other compounds; and (b) separating/recovering the divinylarene dioxide product from the other compounds of the reaction effluent from step (a); wherein the percent recovery of the divinylarene dioxide product recovered comprises greater than about 85 percent; and wherein the percent purity of the divinylarene dioxide product recovered comprises greater than about 85 percent.

Process for recovering divinylarene dioxides

The instant invention provides a process for separating one or more aliphatic diamines from reductive amination reaction solvents and impurities, and aliphatic diamines obtained via such a process. The process for separating one or more aliphatic diamines from reductive amination reaction solvents and impurities according to the instant invention comprises the steps of: (1) feeding one or more cycloaliphatic cyanoaldehydes, hydrogen, ammonia, and optionally one or more solvents into a continuous reductive amination reactor system; (2) contacting said one or more cycloaliphatic cyanoaldehydes, hydrogen, and ammonia with each other in the presence of one or more heterogeneous metal based catalyst systems at a temperature in the range of from 80&#xb0; C. to about 160&#xb0; C. and a pressure in the range of from 700 to 3500 psig; (3) thereby forming a product mixture comprising one or more cycloaliphatic diamines, optionally one or more bicyclic by-products, optionally one or more cycloaliphatic aminonitriles, optionally one or more cycloaliphatic aminoalcohols, optionally one or more oligomeric by-products, ammonia, water, hydrogen, and optionally one or more solvents; (4) removing said product mixture from the reactor system; (5) removing at least a portion of said ammonia, said hydrogen, or mixture thereof from said product mixture via distillation; (6) removing at least a portion of said water and said one or more optional solvents via distillation; (7) removing at least a portion of one or more optional bicyclic by-products via distillation; (8) removing one or more optional cycloaliphatic aminonitriles, one or more optional cycloaliphatic aminoalcohols, one or more optional oligomeric by-products via distillation; and (9) thereby separating said one or more cycloaliphatic diamines from said product mixture.

Process for separating one or more aliphatic diamines from reductive amination reaction solvents and impurities

A process for preparing a divinylarene oxide including (a) reacting (i) at least one divinylarene; (ii) at least one peroxycarboximidic acid; (iii) at least one solvent; and (iv) at least one basic compound, under reaction conditions to form a reaction effluent containing a divinylarene oxide product; and then (b) evaporating the reaction effluent of step (a) to form a concentrate containing the divinylarene oxide product; and wherein the concentrate separates into two liquid phases.

Process for preparing divinylarene oxides

A process for preparing a divinylarene dioxide including reacting (a) at least one divinylarene; (b) at least one peroxycarboximidic acid; (c) at least one solvent; and (d) at least one basic compound, under conditions to form a reaction mixture containing a divinylarene dioxide product; and then separating the divinylarene dioxide product from the other reaction mixture components to obtain a purified divinylarene dioxide product.

Process for preparing divinylarene dioxides

A process for preparing a divinylarene dioxide including (a) reacting at least one divinylarene with hypochlorous acid to form a chlorohydrin; and (b) treating the chlorohydrin formed in step (a) with at least one base, under conditions to form a divinylarene dioxide product. 

A process for producing an epoxide such as a cycloaliphatic diepoxide by the reaction of an olefin such as a cycloaliphatic diene with hydrogen peroxide (HO) as an oxidant in the presence of a catalytic system under pH control for example at a pH of less than about 5. The present invention is advantageously used for the epoxidation of olefinic compounds such as olefins and aliphatic or aromatic dienes.
