A laminated glass retention system for securing a laminated glass subassembly within a window sash or frame member or door panel or similar component includes a retention member applied to the laminated glass subassembly. The retention member generally can include a leg portion that engages of the laminated glass subassembly, and can further include a base portion that is coupled to the frame member in which the laminated glass subassembly is seated. The retention member helps retain the insulating glass subassembly within its frame member when subjected to high winds and wind-borne debris.

An improved packaging clip, packaging system, and method are disclosed for securing windows and doors and holding them square during shipment and installation. In one embodiment for a window unit, a packaging clip comprises a projection that fits into a jamb track channel in a window frame and a base that contacts and rests against the check rail of a window sash. The packaging clip may be fastened to each jamb of the window frame by a screw. A coupling member is pulled taught between the two packaging clips and fasteners are installed to attach the clips to the jambs and to secure the end portions of the coupling member to the clips. This holds the window frame intact and square during shipment and installation and, since the coupling member does not wrap around the outsides of the window frame, it does not interfere with installation of the unit.

Packaging and installation system for double hung windows and other sliding closures

A mold for producing a variety of fenestration members having different predetermined lengths is disclosed. Generally, the mold has a first lineal mold part that has an extended length and a second lineal mold part also having an extended length. The mold may also have mold end parts that are adapted to form end features of the fenestration member. In use, the first lineal mold part and the second lineal mold part fit together to define a profile. The first and second mold end parts can be positioned in a range of positions to define the lengths of a variety of different molded fenestration members.

A roof window assembly adapted to be mounted to cover an opening in a roof structure of a building and method of installing and removing the roof window. The assembly includes a glass unit and a sash member operatively connected to the glass unit. A frame member is adapted and configured to be secured to the roof proximate its opening. A detent arrangement is on the frame and the sash, wherein after the frame is secured to the roof, the sash is placed on the frame and the detent arrangement mechanically secures the sash to the frame.

Method and apparatus for using a detent arrangement on a roof window frame and sash

A bracket used to secure a window frame to a roof. The bracket has a rectangular geometry, a means of securing the bracket to the roof and a means of rotating the body along the planar axis of the bottom of a frame. The bracket has a first orientation where the long edges are parallel with the frame, and a second orientation where the short edges are parallel with the frame. The bracket is rotatable with a plurality of orientations between the first orientation and the second orientation.
