Methods, apparatus, systems and articles of manufacture are disclosed to identify and manage IoT protocols and associated devices. An example apparatus includes a gateway device to communicate according to a first protocol. The example gateway device includes a plugin agent to discover a first device and probe the first device to gather data regarding a protocol of the first device. The example plugin agent is to transmit the gathered data to a plugin manager to determine whether the first device is to communicate via the first protocol, and, when the first device is unable to communicate via the first protocol, determine a plugin for the gateway device to enable the gateway device to communicate with the first device, the plugin agent to provision the plugin for the gateway device with respect to the first device.

Framework for IoT protocol identification and management

Various systems and methods for testing devices, issuing certificates, and managing certified devices, are discussed herein. A system is configured for using platform certificates to verify compliance and compatibility of a device when onboarding the device into an internet of things (IoT) network. The system may use an approved product list to verify compliance and compatibility for the device. When the device is certified, the system may use an onboarding tool to onboard the device into the IoT network.

Trusted IoT device configuration and onboarding

Systems and methods for device to device communications in an Internet of Things (IoT) setting, via associated cloud services, are described. In an example, a procedure performed by a first IoT device, associated with a first domain or ecosystem, to communicate with a second IoT device, associated with a second domain or ecosystem, includes: obtaining communication information to communicate with a second service associated with the second device; providing the communication information to a first service associated with the first device; obtain service validation information, in response to the first service initiating the validation procedure with the second service; and providing the service validation information to the first service. This service validation information is used to enable a validated connection between the first service and the second service, to then communicate data or commands between the first device and the second device via the first and second remote services.

Establishing cloud-to-cloud access for internet of things (IOT) devices

Methods, apparatuses, and computer-readable media for a wireless communication device switching between lower energy and higher energy wireless communication techniques are disclosed. The wireless communication device includes processing circuitry to: receive a packet in accordance with a lower energy wireless peer-to-peer (P2P) network communication technique from a service provider wireless device, wherein the packet indicates one or more services provided by the service provider wireless device. The processing circuitry may be further to: determine to switch to a higher energy wireless P2P communication technique to communicate with the service provider wireless device based on a determination that a target service is provided by the service provider wireless device. The processing circuitry may be further to: perform a connectivity setup with the provider wireless device to use the target service in accordance with the higher energy wireless P2P communication technique.

Method, apparatus, and computer readable medium for switching between lower energy and higher energy wireless communication techniques

Disclosed herein are techniques to enable discovery of P2P capable devices and associated network connection information. In some embodiments, an information element is included in a transmitted request to indicate a request for network connection information from another wireless device. The device may respond with indications of the requested network connection information. Network connectivity capability determined from the network connection information may be used to decide whether to setup a Wi-Fi Direct link or a Tunneled Direct Link Setup (TDLS), or whether to use an AP infrastructure link with the other device.

Augmenting Wi-Fi device discovery with network connection information

The present disclosure relates to computer-implemented systems and methods for device provisioning. The method may include receiving, by a computer, a selection instructions to detect wireless devices. The computer may include one or more processors, a radio transceiver, and a microphone. The method may also include identifying, by the radio transceiver, a plurality of wireless devices. Additionally, the method may include transmitting, by the radio transceiver to the wireless devices, respective requests for inaudible audio signal transmission. The method may also include receiving, by the microphone, a first inaudible audio signal from a first wireless device of the plurality of wireless devices. Further still, the method may include determining, based at least in part on the first inaudible audio signal, that the first wireless device is located in the same room as the user device.

Systems and methods for device provisioning

The disclosure relates to a method, system and apparatus for extending Bluetooth low energy (BLE) technology to conserve energy in multi-mode wireless devices. In one embodiment, the disclosure relates to a device comprising a first module configured for radio communication at a non-BLE communication mode; a second module to communicate at a BLE communication mode; and a controller for controlling the first and the second communication modules, the controller configured to direct the BLE communication mode to at least one of advertise or scan for information relating to the non-BLE communication mode.

Methods and arrangements to establish peer-to-peer link

The disclosure relates to a method and apparatus for leveraging Bluetooth (BT) or Bluetooth low energy (BLE) technologies to conserve energy in multi-mode devices. In one embodiment, the disclosure relates to synchronizing a first wireless platform with a second wireless platform by exchanging Wi-Fi synchronization information through BT packets. Each of the first and the second wireless platforms may have integrated Wi-Fi (or other communication modalities) with a BT radio. In one embodiment of the disclosure, the Wi-Fi communication modes are kept at sleep mode while the BT modalities exchange synchronization information.
