A patient support apparatus includes a base frame, lift mechanism supporting an upper frame relative to the base frame, a load frame, and a plurality of deck sections, a patient support surface, and a number of barriers positioned about the patient supporting surface. The patient support apparatus includes a notification system for visually notifying a caregiver of a condition or status of a component of the patient support apparatus.

A limb support comprises a spar, a limb rest, and a coupler. The spar is configured to be supported from a patient support apparatus and adjustable relative to the patient support and has a longitudinal axis. The coupler includes a release that is actuable between a first position permitting movement of the coupler relative to the patient support and a second position preventing movement of the coupler relative to the patient support.

A limb support comprises a spar, a limb rest, and a coupler. The coupler includes a release that is selectively actuable to release locking mechanisms to permit adjustment of the limb support relative to the spar.

A broom assembly is provided. The broom assembly includes a broom head which comprises an elongated back plate and a plurality of bristles extending from the back plate. The broom assembly also includes an elongated mounting plate which is attached to the back plate and extends over a longitudinal end of the back plate. A handle receiving bracket is attached to the mounting plate, projecting the same direction from the mounting plate as the broom head. The handle receiving bracket comprises at least two receiving cavities for attaching a handle. The broom assembly further comprises an elongated handle for insertion in the handle receiving bracket.

An automated exterior fire protection system deploys a fire resistant blanket that is preferably stored under the roof of the structure. Threatening fires are detected by a sensor to provide a signal that initiates automatic deployment of the blanket. Air bleed portions may be provided in the blanket to allow air trapped between the blanket and the structure to quickly dissipate. Moreover, elastic straps may be provided in the blanket to secure the blanket in place.
