A valve apparatus is provided that includes a housing having proximal and distal ends and defining a passageway therethrough. An access port of the housing defines a bore configured for selective communication with the passageway. The valve apparatus includes a hollow insert which is disposed in the distal end of the passageway and includes a portion that is disposed beneath the bore defined by the access port. The housing additionally includes retention tabs on the distal end that engage corresponding openings in a fitting that is attached to the housing and includes a nipple slidingly received within the insert. A seat on the nipple contacts a flange of the insert to form a substantially leak proof connection. A substantially identical fitting engages corresponding retention tabs on the access port and is configured to slidingly receive a plunger, disposed in the bore, within a passage defined by the nipple. A sealing ring disposed in the bore around the plunger is compressed by the nipple and acts to prevent leakage past the plunger. The plunger is biased upwards out of the passageway, defined by the housing, by the resilience of the insert, so that fluid can readily flow between the proximal and distal ends of the passageway.

Medical flush valve

A valve apparatus is provided that comprises a housing with a passageway formed therethrough and a seal assembly. The housing has an access port with a bore formed therein that is configured to be in fluid communication with the passageway. The seal assembly is configured to automatically seal and unseal the passageway in the housing in response to a medical device being attached to the access port. The seal assembly has an open position where the passageway of the housing is capable of having fluid flow therethrough and a closed position in which the fluid flow through the passageway is interrupted. The seal assembly is configured to automatically move between the open position and the closed position. The seal assembly is biased into the normally open position. The seal assembly also has a hole formed therethrough which communicates with the bore in the access port and provides an opening to the passageway of the housing when the seal assembly is in the closed position. The seal assembly comprises a seal and a biasing mechanism. The seal is sized and configured to be movably disposed in the bore of the access port. The seal has a substantially cylindrical shape. The biasing mechanism comprises a resilient flexible member configured to cooperate with the seal so as to urge the seal into the open position. The seal and the resilient flexible member are configured to cooperate so as to urge the seal into the open position.

Back flush valve for one-way flush of drainage catheters

A portable gaseous fuel heated cooker which connects via flexible hose to a pressurized gas source such as a propane bottle. The cooker as such comprises four parts, a round bottom wok-like disk, a burner unit, a tubular post and a coplanar base. The disk has a threaded stud depending therefrom which is threadably received in the top of the burner unit, the bottom of the burner unit is similarly connectable to the tubular post which, in turn, is similarly connectable to the base. The burner unit has radial flanges which extend a short distance above a cylindrical shield of the burner unit, the overall unit is about thirty-two inches in height but with the tubular post removed is about twelve inches in height. If the disk is removed flat bottom heating utensils can be placed directly on the burner unit and with both the burner unit and the tubular post removed the disk can be threadably received by the base to provide an assemblage which has several uses including transport of the unit parts with the burner and posts carried in the disk. An annular sleeve can be provided to encircle the tubular post and be slidably therealong which is connected to clamp a propane bottle in place spaced from and relative to the tubular post. Special handles for the disk may be provided to minimize heat transfer from the disk when cooking.
