The invention is directed to a method of embossing wood grain patterns on fiberboard surfaces. A Mylar sheet is placed between the embossing plate and the coated fiberboard. The Mylar sheet prevents removal of the coating from the fiberboard and still permits good detail for fine embossing.

The invention is directed to an electroforming mandrel of a specific structure which is used for making an electroformed product. The invention also embodies a method for producing an embossing surface.

The invention is directed to a method of embossing a wood grain pattern on a composition board surface to provide it with a grain detail such that auto-glazing may be carried out. Auto-glazing is automatically providing variable amounts of glazing on a wood surface to highlight the grain pattern of the wood.

Polyvinyl chloride injection-molding compounds resistant to splitting when nailed during assembly operations comprising a polyvinyl chloride-based resin, from 15 to 25 parts per 100 of the base resin of chlorinated polyethylene, from 20 to 80 parts per 100 of styrene-acrylonitrile copolymer and from 5 to 15 parts per 100 of a styrene-butadiene random or block copolymer rubber.
