A shunt for an electrical connector that comprises a conductive body which has two resilient leg extensions connecting at a hinge, each of the leg extensions terminating at a tail end opposite the hinge. Each of the leg extensions has at least one contact point on an outer surface thereof for engaging a contact of the electrical connector. The leg extensions curve such that they diverge from one another at at least one portion of the conductive body. The at least one contact point is located at this at least one portion.

Shunt for electrical connector

A shunt for an electrical connector comprising a conductive body having two resilient leg extensions connecting at a hinge, each of the leg extensions terminating at a tail end, is provided. The tail ends extend outwardly away from one another, and each of the leg extensions have at least one contact point on an outer surface thereof for engaging a contact of the electrical connector. The leg extensions curve such that they converge toward one another at a substantially center portion of the conductive body and diverge from one another at at least one other portion of the conductive body that is not the center portion of the conductive body.

A connector assembly includes: at least one signal contact adapted to terminate at least one conductor of a cable; at least one terminal adapted to receive the at least one signal contact; a housing including a channel configured to receive the at least one terminal and adapted to receive at least a portion of a printed circuit board; and a biasing member adapted to bias the at least one terminal against the circuit board, thereby pressing the at least one signal contact against the circuit board to inhibit horizontal movement of the at least one signal contact relative to the at least a portion of a printed circuit board.
