A solar powered rainbow-making device produces a visual display that is created by the interplay of light and a light refractive element that form constantly changing patterns from a rotating crystal. The rotating display device includes a circular-shaped refractive element that is mounted on a base and is turned by a motor driven transmission gear train. The crystal rotates about a horizontal axis as sunlight is transformed into a color spectrum that moves in a circular fashion. The color images can include a plurality of distinct rainbow images that are projected onto the walls and other structures in the immediate environment.

A crystal display device is disclosed wherein a vertically arranged photovoltaic cell, main device housing&#x2014;encasing an electric motor and transmission&#x2014;, and a refractory crystal suspended below is rotated so as to provide multi-colored displays upon room walls and other surfaces when exposed to sunlight. A preferred embodiment of the device utilizes a suction cup to retain the device housing in the afore-mentioned vertical alignment against the inside of a selected window.

A compatibility-testing amusement device with an electrical circuit comprises a heart-shaped housing, which comprises an exterior surface and interior area formed therein. The interior area comprises a power source, a substantially low voltage incomplete power circuit, a central processing unit, and a speaker. A left side of the heart-shaped housing comprises a metal contact upon the exterior surface thereof, and a right side of the heart-shaped housing comprising a metal contact upon the exterior surface thereof. A center portion of the heart-shaped housing comprises an aperture thereon, through which a speaker protrudes from the interior area. Touching of the left side metal contact by a first person, touching of the right side metal contact by a second person, and subsequent touching of the first person and second person to each other via kissing causes the substantially low voltage power circuit to become complete. Completion of the circuit causes the central processing unit to direct a sound module to play at least one random, unpredictable sound through usage of the speaker or at least one light to be displayed through usage of an illumination source. The sound or light is intended to represent a level of compatibility between the first person and second person.

A flapping heart amusement device comprises a left side, a right side, and a central support member. The left side and right side are symmetrical in nature and represent each half of a heart shape. An interior edge of each side meet at the central support member, which is cylindrical and vertical in orientation. A vertically aligned hinge pin runs through the central support member through openings therewithin, the hinge pin allowing the left side and the right side to swivel therefrom. A housing encapsulates a power means and is located at a position behind the left side and right side. A left linkage means extends outwardly from the power means located within the housing and engages the left side, a first end of the left linkage rigidly affixed to a double-ended crank shaft located within the housing and positioned perpendicularly thereto, with a distal end of left linkage means rigidly attached to the left side of the heart. Similarly, a right linkage means extendes outwardly from the power and engages the right side of heart, a first end of the right linkage means rigidly affixed to the double-ended crank shaft, a distal end of the right linkage means rigidly attached to the right side of heart. In total, engagement of the power means functions to rotate the crankshaft along the horizontal axis, functioning to engage the left linkage means and right linkage means, and functioning to drive the two sides of the heart forwardly and rearwardly to create a flapping effect.
