An inorganic substrate with an improved via shape and methods for facilitating formation of such improved via shape are disclosed. A double-sided opening process may be applied to an inorganic substrate to form openings at the ends of a damage track previously formed in the inorganic substrate. One side of the inorganic substrate may then be sealed, such as by being temporarily bonded to a carrier or blocking substrate, so that a single-sided opening process may be applied to the other unsealed or unblocked surface of the inorganic substrate. The single-sided opening process may enlarge at least one of the openings formed by the double-sided opening process and may enlarge a channel between the openings to form a via having an advantageous shape.

Facilitating formation of a via in a substrate

Processed inorganic wafers and processing a wafer stack including an abrasive process are disclosed. A wafer stack may be formed at least by performing a temporary bonding process to temporarily bond at least a first inorganic wafer to a first surface of a handle wafer. The handle wafer may include at least one inorganic wafer, and the temporary bonding process may include formation of an adhesion layer between the first inorganic wafer and the first surface of the handle wafer. The adhesion layer may include a vacuum deposited carbonaceous film with a thickness between 1 nm and 100 nm, inclusive. An abrasive process may be applied to at least part of the wafer stack, and the abrasive process may reduce a thickness of the first inorganic wafer of the wafer stack. The first inorganic wafer may be debonded from the handle wafer after applying the abrasive process.

An antiseptic composition for use as a topical skin sanitizer or as a surface disinfectant includesBark Extract and/or Ribes Nigum Fruit Extract in an amount of from about 0.1 to about 50 weight percent effective as a broad spectrum antiseptic and antimicrobial agent. The composition includes an aqueous medium and/or one or more oils. The amount of the aqueous medium is from 45 to about 95 weight percent. The amount of oils is from 0.03 to about 50 weight percent. The composition may also include up to about 1 weight percent of one or more soothing agents; up to about 5 weight percent of one or more thickeners; and up to about 38 weight percent of one or more emulsifiers. The composition does not contain alcohols, chlorinated compounds, iodine, or phenols.

A process for depositing a thin film material on a substrate is disclosed, comprising simultaneously directing a series of gas flows from the output face of a delivery head of a thin film deposition system toward the surface of a substrate, and wherein the series of gas flows comprises at least a first reactive gaseous material, an inert purge gas, and a second reactive gaseous material, wherein the first reactive gaseous material is capable of reacting with a substrate surface treated with the second reactive gaseous material, wherein one or more of the gas flows provides a pressure that at least contributes to the separation of the surface of the substrate from the face of the delivery head. A system capable of carrying out such a process is also disclosed.

A fishing rig storage device that is removably insertable into a receiving slot incorporated in at least one of a dividing wall or an interior surface of a tackle container is illustrated and described. The fishing rig storage device includes a mounting tab having quartered sections and a plurality of notches formed along a perimeter. Each quartered section includes at least one of the plurality of notches. A fishing rig having a hook assembly, a line, and a tail is secured to the mounting tab by securing the hook assembly to a first notch, selectively wrapping the line around the plurality of notches, and securing the tail to a slit extending from the perimeter. The line is preferably arranged around the mounting tab to minimize catching or snagging of the line on the hook assembly when the line is unwrapped from the mounting tab.

A solar cell structure may provide a front surface that may include a front passivation layer and front anti-reflective layer. The solar cell structure may provide both contacts on a rear surface. In some cases, the rear surface may optionally provide passivation, doped, and/or transparent conductive oxide layers. The rear surface also provides a multilayer foil assembly (MFA). The MFA provides a first metal foil in electrical communication with doped regions of the rear surface of the substrate, such as base or emitter regions. The MFA may also provide a second metal foil that is spaced apart from the first metal foil by a dielectric layer. The metal foils and dielectric layers may include openings through the entirety of these layers, and these openings may be utilized to form contacts electrically coupled to the second metal foil, which is electrically isolated from the first metal foil. Contacts to the solar cell may be carrier selective contacts, formed by deposition, laser transfer, and/or chemical transformation processes.

Systems and methods for forming foil contact rear emitter solar cells with carrier selective contacts

An interdigitated solar cell may provide a heterojunction or tunnel junction emitter and base contacts that comprise laser processed regions that electrically couple the base contact to a substrate. Methods for manufacturing such solar cells to provide interdigitated back contacts may utilize laser processing to form laser processed regions that are isolated from the emitter. Laser processing may include laser-doping, laser-firing, laser-transfer, laser-transfer doping, laser contacting, and/or gas immersion laser doping.

A method for an improved doping process allows for improved control of doping concentrations on a substrate. The method may comprise printing a polymeric material on a substrate in a desired pattern; and depositing a barrier layer on the substrate with a liquid phase deposition process, wherein a pattern of the barrier layer is defined by the polymeric material. The method further comprises removing the polymeric material, and doping the substrate. The barrier layer substantially prevents or reduces doping of the substrate to allow patterned doping regions to be formed on the substrate. The method can be repeated to allow additional doping regions to be formed on the substrate.

In some cases, it is desirable to perform doping when manufacturing a solar cell to improve efficiency. Dopant diffusion may include the steps of: (a) an initial temperature ramp, (b) dopant vapor flow, (c) drive-in, and (d) cool down. However, doping may result in excessive doping, such as in regions where the solar cell has been nanoscale textured to provide black silicon, thereby creating a dead zone with excessive recombination of charge carriers. In the systems and method discussed herein, dopant vapor flow and drive-in steps may be performed at two different temperature set points to minimize or eliminate the formation of dead zones. In some embodiments, the dopant vapor flow may be performed at a lower temperature set point than the drive-in.

Systems and methods for etching the surface of a substrate may utilize a thin layer of fluid to etch a substrate for improved anti-reflective properties. The substrate may be secured with a holding fixture that is capable of positioning the substrate. A fluid comprising an acid and an oxidizer for etching may be prepared, which may optionally include a metal catalyst. An amount of fluid necessary to form a thin layer contacting the surface of the substrate to be etched may be dispensed. The fluid may be spread into the thin layer utilizing a tray that the substrate is dipped into, a plate that is placed near the surface of the substrate to be etched, or a spray or coating device.

System and method for black silicon etching utilizing thin fluid layers

Systems and methods for producing nanoscale textured low reflectivity surfaces may be utilized to fabricate solar cells. A substrate may be patterned with a resist prior to an etching process that produces a nanoscale texture on the surface of the substrate. Additionally, the substrate may be subjected to a dopant diffusion process. Prior to dopant diffusion, the substrate may be optionally subjected to liquid phase deposition to deposit a material that allows for patterned doping. The order of the nanoscale texture etching and dopant diffusion may be modified as desired to produce post-nano emitters or pre-nano emitters.

A method of producing a patterned inorganic thin film dielectric stack includes providing a substrate. A first patterned deposition inhibiting material layer is provided on the substrate. A first inorganic thin film dielectric material layer is selectively deposited on a region of the substrate where the first deposition inhibiting material layer is not present using an atomic layer deposition process. The first deposition inhibiting and first inorganic thin film dielectric material layers are simultaneously treated after deposition of the first inorganic thin film dielectric material layer. A second patterned deposition inhibiting material layer is provided on the substrate. A second inorganic thin film dielectric material layer is selectively deposited on a region of the substrate where the second deposition inhibiting material layer is not present using an atomic layer deposition process. The first and second inorganic thin film dielectric material layers form a patterned inorganic thin film dielectric stack.
