A food product having in the range of about 1 to 3.25 calories per gram, on a dry weight basis, and comprising resistant starch with a maintained granular structure, preferably, with a chemically modification to obtain the maintained granular structure. With a type II resistant starch, the total dietary fiber within the food product arising from the resistant starch comprises 14-20% of the final food product by weight. With a type IV resistant starch, the total dietary fiber within the food product arising from the resistant starch constitutes 14-60% of the final food product by weight. The food product may be cookies, cakes, crisps, instant noodles, cheese crackers, pasta, and egg noodles.

Method of treating body insect infestation

The present invention provides a method of treating lice and/or tick infestation, in both mature and immature forms, comprising topically applying a composition consisting of at least about 40% of polydimethylsiloxane by volume to the infestation and allowing the composition to remain on the infestation for at least 5 minutes, wherein the surface tension of the composition is below about 25 dynes/centimeter at 20&deg; C. and the viscosity of the composition is above about 200 centistokes at 20&deg; C.

Described is a method of producing mammalian ADH in plants and a method of producing mammalian ALDH in plants. The ADH and ALDH is preferably of human origin and preferably human class IV .sigma. ADH and human ALDH2. Mammalian ADH and ALDH is recovered from the plants and packaged with NAD and a suitable buffer as a pill, paste, or food snack. Gelatin, having high Bloom or gel strength in excess of 300, is extracted from fish, with high yield, by pre-treating collagen rich fish skins with a limewater (Ca(OH).sub.2) solution suspension with a concentration of between 19 gm of Ca(OH).sub.2 /liter of water/kg of tilapia fish skin to 100 gm Ca(OH).sub.2 /liter of water/kg of fish skin for a period of time between ten to sixty days and optimally between two to four weeks. For fish with higher percentage of fat content, a minimum concentration is at least 50 gm of Ca(OH).sub.2 /liter of water/kg of fish skin to avoid putrefaction. For fish with easily extractable gelatin, such as Nile perch, soaking time is from 3 to 10 days with a concentration of Ca(OH).sub.2 /liter of water of about 15 gm. At concentrations above 100 gm of Ca(OH).sub.2 /liter of water/kg of fish skin and/or treatment time periods in excess of four weeks, Bloom strength dramatically decreases. Acid treatment followed by additional limewater treatment restores Bloom strength lost by excessively long initial limewater treatment.
