Disclosed herein is a roaming settings service that receives an update to roaming settings specific to a user that is initiated by an instance of an application program provisioned according to a first application mode. Upon receiving a request for the roaming settings specific to the user initiated by an instance of the application program provisioned according to a second application model, the roaming settings service retrieves updated roaming settings that reflect the update to the roaming settings. The settings service transfers the updated roaming settings for delivery to the instance of the application program provisioned according to the second application model.

User-specific roaming settings

An operating system provides a point-and-print capability to users of the workstation. The point-and-print capability allows a user to print on any printer available within a distributed system by simply selecting a printer and requesting to print on the printer. The retrieval of configuration information and installation of the printer is performed transparently relative to the user of the workstation. The required printer configuration information is retrieved from a database that is maintained at a network server for the network that includes the target printer. A heuristic technique is employed to obtain complete printer configuration information when such printer configuration is not fully available from the network server.

Automatic installation of printers in a distributed environment

An adjustable thumb hole insert for a bowling ball. A bowling ball having an oversized thumb hole has an adjustment cup positioned within it. The adjustment cup is tapered at the bottom and at the top. A thumb collet is positioned within the adjustment cup and has a generally cylindrical sidewall surrounding the thumb hole. The thumb collet is tapered at the bottom and at the top and is held in the over-sized thumb hole of the bowling ball. An adjustment screw is held in the bottom of the adjustment cup and when it is screwed downwardly it raises the adjustment cup which causes the thumb collet to squeeze inwardly, thereby reducing the inside diameter of the thumb hole. Conversely, when the adjustment screw is loosened, the inside diameter of the thumb hole increases.

A mold apparatus for forming various sizes and shapes of wax castings to provide a means for producing rings in volume therefrom, wherein the mold apparatus comprises a drum member defining the main mold housing having a casting bore of a pre-determined configuration disposed therein, the housing being provided with a pair of removable end plates, the plates being held in place by a tubular support mandrel passing through the cavity and the end plates; wherein a ring-sizing band can be received within the cavity to control the overall size and thickness of the wax casting; and wherein there is included a finger-sizing band adapted to be mounted on the tubular support mandrel within the casting cavity, whereby the selection and arrangement of various sized bands will form numerous ring configurations and sizes when hot wax is injected through an injector inlet port formed between the drum and one of the end plates.
