An electrical connector comprising a housing, a plurality of first electrical contacts, a shuttle movably mounted inside the housing, and a plurality of second electrical shunt contacts stationarily mounted on the shuttle. The shuttle is movable between two positions to move the shunt contacts into and out of electrical contact with the first electrical contacts. The shuttle has a cam surface that is adapted to be moved along the slot by a second mating electrical connector to move the shuttle and shunt contacts.

A device for attaching a heat sink to a chip having an integrated circuit and a pin grid array socket. The device includes a leaf spring pre-assembled to two plastic clips, each of the plastic clips containing a portion which is adapted to extend below the socket, thereby releasably securing the heat sink to the chip and the socket.

A 'Y' adapter for supplying power to a marine vessel from a dockside power center having two receptacles includes two three-pole plugs insertable into the receptacles, a third four-pole plug for connection to the wiring system of the vessel and a sensing and control unit for selectively switching paths between these plugs. All conductor lines are switchable to the third plug and between the input plugs by a voltage and phase sensing unit and contactor arrangement. Energization of one input plug while the other one is plugged into a receptacle is prevented and other dangerous voltage circumstances are also prevented.

Marine power Y-adapter

A male electrical connector with positive locking prongs and shielded blade protection. The connector comprises a plug body, a plurality of curved blades extending therefrom, and a plate carrying locking prongs and axially slidably coupled to the blades and plug body. In one embodiment, the plate is slidably received in a recess in the plug body, while in another embodiment, the plate is coupled to a tube which is slidably received on the exterior surface of the plug body. The connector can include an auxiliary lock-in assembly, a lock-out assembly, or both, as well as a seal to resist ingress of dirt or moisture.

A flat cable system includes at least three types of insulated cables with flat conductors, the conductor spacing being either a distance D or a multiple thereof. A connector block for electrically connecting the cables to each other or to wires leading to outside devices includes upper and lower plastic blocks, the lower block having recess with internally threaded backing nuts therein in a staggered pattern, the nuts being spaced by distances D. The upper block carries a puncturing member, a threaded bolt, a spring washer and a terminal connected to a wire. The bolt has a drill point to penetrate one or more cables and threadedly engage one of the backing nuts, forming a clamp assembly which forces the puncturing member into electrical contact with the conductor. An intermediate board for interconnecting plural cables is disclosed.
