A process is described for the preparation of a novel protein product of a highly purified antihemophlic factor (AHF) concentrate. The product is prepared by use of a semi-permeable membrane apparatus that desalts the plasma to between 45 to 80% of its salt content while constantly maintaining the plasma at substantially its original starting pH level. Under these conditions the AHF portion of the plasma will precipitate.

Electrodialysis preparation of purified AHF concentrate

A novel resin is provided for use in chromatography to enable purification of plasma proteins Clq, Clr and Cls from Cohn Fraction I and other materials. An improved method results in obtaining substantially all of these materials from Cohn Fraction I or other media. The components of complement thus obtained are highly purified and retain full biological activity.

Means and methods for purifying Clq, Clr and Cls

A new compound amidinophenylmethylsulfonylfluoride is formed and preferably used in the para isomer form as an irreversible inactivator of selected serine proteases.
