The present invention is generally directed to a portable, reusable, and rapidly deployable protective cover configured to be worn over a person's clothing and to protect portions of the person's torso and lap from liquid and solid spills, particularly while in a seated position, such as when sitting in a vehicle.

Portable, reusable, and rapidly deployable protective cover

A bed extender having tubular first and second elongated arm connected together by a bed cross-member. The elongated arms and bed cross-member include tabs or other features for mounting to the bed of a vehicle. The bed extender also includes a rear slide assembly having elongated first and second slide members that slide in the first and second elongated arm. A vertical support extends upward from the ends of the slide members. The bed extender further includes a lock mechanism for locking the rear slide assembly into place in the first and second elongated arms. The vertical support structure includes first and second corner braces attached to the slide members. Up-tubes extend vertically from the corner braces, and a support arm extends across the up-tubes. A lower cross-member connect the first and second corner braces. The bed extender further includes an attachment feature for attaching ropes or similar devices to retain cargo in place.

A device and method for accurately sensing the direction and magnitude of small displacements between two objects, independent of the distance between the objects, utilizing a monochromatic light source and a reflector to produce a light standing wave pattern and a transparent photosensitive detector to detect the number of crests and/or nodes of the light standing wave pattern intercepted.

Optical displacement sensor

A monolithic imager utilizing a plurality of detector cells for detecting the presence of radiation and producing a two dimensional mapping thereof. The detector cells are arrayed in a matrix having a square center surrounded by a number of polygonal rings so that a relatively high resolution mapping of detected radiation is achieved at the center of the imager.

Monolithic imager

A monolithic imager utilizing a plurality of detector cells is formed on a common intrinsic substrate. Backside illumination in the near-IR region generates hole-electron pairs in the intrinsic material which may be depleted throughout its thickness by CCD-range voltages applied by the imager's readout structure to a over-lying, thinly doped epitaxial layer. Minority carriers migrate toward a collection node which is formed in the epitaxial layer (and protrudes into the substrate), accumulating in an inversion layer at the surface of the epitaxial layer. The accumulated charge is advanced to an output diffusion in the epitaxial layer by means of a readout system which provides semi-random addressing of the transfer gate electrodes of the individual detector cells.
