Spa cover assemblies for use with a spa are contemplated herein. Each cover assembly is configured to pivotally couple to opposing end walls of the spa base and pivot between a closed position and an open position. Each cover assembly includes a first cover piece pivotally coupled to an end wall of the spa base, two bracket assemblies pivotally coupled to the end wall and the first cover piece, and a second cover piece pivotally coupled to the first cover piece. The second cover piece is substantially planar with the first cover piece when in the closed position and stacked on the first cover piece when in the open position. The first and second cover pieces form a shelf extending from the spa base when in the open position.

A composite polymeric material is provided that may be used to construct an abrasion resistant layer or sheet such as an abrasion resistant meltblown layer. Desirably, the composite polymeric material comprises blends of syndiotactic and isotactic polypropylene with ferroelectric materials. The composite polymeric material is particularly useful for constructing a filter media comprising an abrasion resistant fine fiber layer such as a nonwoven layer. The composite polymeric material of the present invention also allows for electret treatment to improve its filtration characteristics.

A system and method is disclosed for providing throttle control in the context of a short message point-to-point gateway. The method enables the control of a message sent from a message source, such as an external source message entity (ESME) to a message-receiving device such as a mobile phone. The method comprises transmitting a data unit associated with the message from the message source to the gateway, determining whether the message source has exceeded a threshold value associated with sending messages and transmitting a response signal from the gateway to the message source indicating an error if the message source has exceeded the threshold value. In this manner, throttle control occurs on an ESME-by-ESME basis, rather than in the aggregate.

A method is disclosed for delivering a short message from an external short message entity (ESME) to a wireless device. The method comprises transmitting a message from a message source device such as an external short message entity to a gateway, the message being associated with a service type. A routing determination is made based on the service type associated with the message. The message is then routed to one of a plurality of message centers according to the routing method chosen. The method may be used with a gateway system that implements a standard interface to a message complex of a wireless system. The interface enables all ESMEs to communicate with the message complex using a consistent standard interface. The system used to implement the method of the present invention comprises a short message point-to-point gateway, a message complex, a home location register and a mobile switching center. The external short message entity connects to the short message point-to-point gateway and requests delivery of a message to a wireless device, and the short message point-to-point gateway routes the request to an appropriate message center.

A filter medium having high stiffness is provided. The filter is a nonwoven web of conjugate fibers which has a Frazier permeability above 200 CFM, an NaCl efficiency above 75 percent, a Gurley Stiffness above 700 mg, and a SEP value of above 80. The conjugate fibers may be polyolefin, more particularly polypropylene and polyethylene in a side-by-side configuration. The medium may be made into a filter by conventional means such as pleating.
