The present invention is a composition comprising an aqueous dispersion of metal oxide pigment particles coated with an organosilane polymer comprising structural units of an alkyltrihydroxysilane or a salt thereof, a dialkyldihydroxysilane or a salt thereof, and an ancillary alkylsilane triol. The composition of the present invention provides hydrophobicity to pigment particles, thereby imparting water resistance, and allows for high loadings of pigment in water without increased viscosity. The dispersion is further useful for providing stain and corrosion resistance in coatings arising from paints.

Hydrophobically modified pigment composition

A heterogeneous procatalyst includes a preformed heterogeneous procatalyst and a metal-ligand complex. The preformed heterogeneous procatalyst includes a titanium species and a magnesium chloride (MgCl) support. The metal-ligand complex has a structural formula (L)M(Y)(XR), where M is a metal cation; each L is a neutral ligand or (═O); each Y is a halide or (C-C)alkyl; each XRis an anionic ligand in which X is a heteroatom or a heteroatom-containing functional group and Ris (C-C)hydrocarbyl or (C-C) heterohydrocarbyl; n is 0, 1, or 2; m is 0-4; and b is 1-6. The metal-ligand complex is overall charge neutral. The heterogeneous procatalyst exhibits improved average molecular weight capability. A catalyst system includes the heterogeneous procatalyst and a cocatalyst. Processes for producing the heterogeneous procatalyst and processes for producing ethylene-based polymers utilizing the heterogeneous procatalyst are also disclosed.

Ziegler-Natta catalyst with an electron donor compound for increasing polymer molecular weight

A heterogeneous procatalyst includes a titanium species, a magnesium chloride component, and a chlorinating agent having a structure A(Cl)x(R)3-, where A is aluminum or boron, Ris a (C-C) hydrocarbyl, and x is 1, 2, or 3. The magnesium chloride component may be thermally treated at a temperature greater than 100 C for at least 30 minutes before or after introduction of the chlorinating agent and titanium species to the heterogeneous procatalyst. The heterogeneous procatalyst having the thermally treated magnesium chloride exhibits improved average molecular weight capability. Processes for producing the heterogeneous procatalyst and processes for producing ethylene-based polymers utilizing the heterogeneous procatalyst are also disclosed.

Ziegler-Natta catalyst system having a thermally treated magnesium chloride component

The present disclosure provides an air-soak containing regeneration process reducing its time. The process includes (i) removing surface carbon species from a gallium-based alkane dehydrogenation catalyst in a combustion process in the presence of a fuel gas; (ii) conditioning the gallium-based alkane dehydrogenation catalyst after (i) in air-soak treatment at a temperature of 660&#xb0; C. to 850&#xb0; C. with (iii) a flow of oxygen-containing gas having (iv) 0.1 to 100 parts per million by volume (ppmv) of a chlorine source selected from chlorine, a chlorine compound or a combination thereof; and achieving a predetermined alkane conversion percentage for the gallium-based alkane dehydrogenation catalyst undergoing the air-soak containing regeneration process using (i) through (iv) 10% to 50% sooner in air-soak treatment than that required to achieve the same predetermined alkane conversion percentage for the gallium-based alkane dehydrogenation catalyst undergoing the air-soak containing regeneration process using (i) through (iii), but without (iv).

Provided is a process for preparing a diaryl ether compound through the dehydration of an aromatic alcohol compound in the presence of a halogenated rare earth element oxide catalyst, providing a reaction vessel having loaded therein a rare earth element oxide; halogenating the rare earth element oxide with a halogen source to form an activated catalyst; and dehydrating an aromatic alcohol compound over the activated catalyst to form the diaryl ether compound, where the halogenating and dehydrating steps occur in the same vessel. The rare earth element oxide is an oxide of a light rare earth element, an oxide of a medium rare earth element, an oxide of a heavy rare earth element, an oxide of yttrium, or a mixture of two or more thereof.
