A portable handheld system for imaging of a throat of a patient, including: a mouthpiece including at least one bite guide for stabilizing the mouthpiece with respect to teeth of the patient when the patient bites on the at least one bite guide; intraoral optics operable to collect light from the throat of the patient and to direct the light towards an imaging sensor; and an imaging sensor operable to capture light directed by the intraoral optics to provide an image of the throat; wherein a mechanical connection between the mouthpiece and the intraoral optics constrains a spatial relationship of the intraoral optics with respect to the mouthpiece so that when the patient bites on the at least one bite guide: the intraoral optics is stabilized by the mouthpiece inside a mouth of the patient having a FOV which includes at least part of a tonsil of the patient.

Systems and methods for throat imaging

An otoscope, comprising: (a) a flexible speculum, operable to be inserted into an ear canal; (b) a stopper, coupled to the flexible speculum, operable to limit penetration depth of the flexible speculum into the ear canal; and (c) an imaging sensor, located inside the flexible speculum, operable to capture an image of an eardrum of the ear canal; wherein a flexibility of the flexible speculum allows alignment of the imaging sensor according to a shape of the ear canal.

Apparatus and methods for performing body imaging

A user moves a handheld inspection device toward a skin region that includes a target skin lesion. A current image of the skin region or part thereof that includes the target skin lesion as currently taken by the handheld inspection device is displayed on a screen, with the target skin lesion marked. When reaching a close distance from the target skin lesion, a close-up inspection is performed. If the target skin lesion is missing in the current image, the close-up inspection process is interrupted, and the user is instructed to move the handheld inspection device to a remote distance from the skin region for restarting the inspection process.

Apparatus and method for inspecting skin lesions

A method for performing one or more remote medical examinations of a patient using a workstation operably connectable to a remote diagnostics device, and wherein for at least one remote medical examination of the remote medical examinations the method comprising: receiving navigation enabling data acquired by at least one navigation sensor of the device, the navigation enabling data being indicative of a spatial disposition of the with respect to the patient's body; displaying the received navigation enabling data; receiving an indication of a desired spatial disposition of the device with respect to the patient's body, from which medical data of the patient is to be acquired in accordance with the at least one medical examination, the indication being provided by a trained personnel operating the workstation; and sending the received indication to the device, thus enabling navigation thereof to the desired spatial disposition with respect to the patient's body.

System and method for performing an automatic and remote trained personnel guided medical examination

A method for performing one or more medical examinations of a patient using a diagnostics device, wherein for at least one medical examination of the medical examinations, the method comprising: providing reference data indicative of a desired spatial disposition of the device with respect to the patient's body for performing the medical examination; operating the device for acquiring navigation enabling data; determining a spatial disposition of the device with respect to the desired spatial disposition, utilizing the acquired navigation enabling data and the reference data; calculating a required movement correction from the determined spatial disposition to the desired spatial disposition, for acquiring medical data of the patient in accordance with the at least one medical examination; providing a user with maneuvering instructions to navigate the device to the desired spatial disposition in accordance with the calculated route; and acquiring the medical data upon arrival to the desired spatial disposition.
