A system for referring a telephone communication to one of a plurality of financial assistance providers based on lender criteria, the method including the steps of: storing telephone numbers for a plurality of financial assistance providers in memory accessible by a digital electrical computer; obtaining lender criteria for selecting one of the financial assistance providers; storing said criteria for access by said computer; identifying a debtor; selecting one of the financial assistance providers by accessing the criteria, applying the criteria, and accessing one of the stored telephone numbers; and connecting the debtor by telephone to the one of the stored telephone numbers. The system can be used with an intermediary that detects referring information sufficient to identify a referrer identity, to select which one of several financial assistance providers to refer the inbound communication by using a computer to look up and to apply referral criteria responsive to the referrer identity, and to form and track the call referral.

A method of using a system processing phone call routing, the method including: automatically capturing, by a computer system, call data for each of a plurality of phone calls utilizing a toll free number and routed as referrals to a service, which engages accounting software to automatically track compensation for the referrals by generating an association of the captured phone call data for each of the referrals with compensation for connecting the referrals so as to distinguish the service from phone call referral data and compensation for a plurality of other services receiving other referrals, the engaging initiating digital reporting, via an Internet address, which includes generating, from the association, call referral information related to the service and said compensation for the referrals to the service.

A method of using an interactive voice response system, the method including: from a trunk interface, receiving an inbound communication from a caller, the inbound communication received at the interactive voice response apparatus; at the interactive voice response apparatus, receiving a number associated with the inbound communication, the number indicative of a location of the caller; playing, as at least one interactive voice response by the interactive voice response apparatus, a recorded message to the caller; querying a memory containing call referral data for each of a plurality of services, using the number, to obtain a phone number for one of the services associated with the location of the caller, the querying carried out by the interactive voice response apparatus; and connecting, by the interactive voice response apparatus, the inbound communication to an outbound communication line to connect the caller with the phone number for the one of the services associated with the location of the caller.

A method of processing a phone call, the method including: from a trunk interface, receiving an inbound communication from which a number is detected, the number sufficient to identify a location of a caller, and by a digital electrical computer system including a memory storing phone numbers for a plurality of credit counseling services, querying the memory by using the detected number to select at least three phone numbers for credit counseling services associated with the location of the caller and outputting a sequence of the phone numbers automatically selected for the credit counseling services associated with the location of the caller.

A machine, computer-readable media, and method using a communications system to automatically refer an inbound communication. The communications system includes a computer and a call-routing database in a memory operably associated with the computer. The method and operations include: receiving an inbound communication with the communications system; capturing information associated with the inbound communication and using the captured information in a search of the call-routing database; if the database reveals a previous successful referral associated with the captured information, routing the inbound communication to a same outbound communications path as used in the previous successful referral; if the database does not reveal a previous successful referral associated with the captured information and if the database reveals call-routing criteria associated with the captured information, routing the inbound communication to an outbound communications path selected in accordance with said call-routing criteria; and if the database does not reveal a previous successful referral associated with the captured information and if the database does not reveal call-routing criteria associated with the captured information, routing the inbound communication to an outbound communications path.

A Fischer-Tropsch process is provided for synthesizing hydrocarbons, involving multiple Fischer-Tropsch reactor stages (110) arranged in series, and characterized by very low carbon monoxide conversion per Fischer-Tropsch reactor stage (110) and intermediate removal of water between reactor stages (110). In one embodiment, the system utilizes an iron-based catalyst and balances the molar H.sub.2 /CO feed ratio in the synthesis gas (108) with the overall H.sub.2 /CO consumption ratio across all of the Fischer-Tropsch reactor stages (110). In a preferred embodiment, carbon dioxide is recycled from the last in series of the Fischer-Tropsch reactor stages (110) to the synthesis gas generator (106). The system may advantageously utilize a gaseous hydrocarbon feed (102), such as obtained from natural gas, as feed for producing the synthesis gas (108).

Multiple reactor system and method for fischer-tropsch synthesis

A compound, monochloro biphenyl: CuAlCl.sub.4, has been isolated and proven to exist. Monochloro biphenyl can be any one of the possible three isomers, ortho, meta and para or can be any mixture of the three isomers. An improved process is provided for the separation of olefins, acetylenes, carbon monoxide or hydrogen sulfide from gaseous feedstreams. A solvent is made by dissolving CuAlCl.sub.4 in a liquid mixture of monochloro biphenyls. This solvent is used to contact the gas feedstream and dissolve by complexation the ligand part of the feedstream. The ligand-fat solvent is separated from the gas feedstream and the ligand recovered by running the solvent through an atmospheric reboiler and one or more reboilers under vacuum. The gas streams of the reboilers are combined and after cooling are a nearly pure stream of the separated ligand. Solutions of CuAlCl.sub.4 in monochloro biphenyls are a low-viscosity, high ligand-solubility and rapid-equilibrating solvent for the separation of ligands (olefins, acetylenes, carbon monoxide and hydrogen sulfide).

Monochlorobiphenyl:cuprous aluminum tetrachloride

H.sub.2 S:CuAlCl.sub.4 and 2 H.sub.2 S:CuAlCl.sub.4 are complex addition compounds which may be prepared by contacting CuAlCl.sub.4 with gaseous H.sub.2 S at partial pressures of 0.1 to 1.0 atma and temperatures of 20.degree.-60.degree. C. These new compounds are useful in processes to separate hydrogen sulfide from gaseous mixtures and to prepare pure hydrogen sulfide. Complexation can be accomplished by using CuAlCl.sub.4 in the solid state, in solution or in a slurry. H.sub.2 S is recovered by subjecting the complex addition compounds to some combination of temperature and hydrogen sulfide partial pressure as to break up the complexes and to evolve the hydrogen sulfide content of the complex as a gas stream.

Separation of hydrogen sulfide from gases by the use of cuprous aluminum

An aromatic solution of the compound CuAl(CN)Cl.sub.3 alone or with additional solid CuAl(CN)Cl.sub.3 is used for the separation of some unsaturated compound (olefin, acetylene or carbon monoxide) from a feedstream. The feedstream is contacted with the solvent to form a complex of the ligand (olefin, acetylene or carbon monoxide). The feedstream is then separated from the solvent. The solvent is then treated with some combination of heat and lowered pressure to separate the ligand from the solvent. The ligand poor solvent is then recycled to contact fresh feedstream.

Cuprous aluminum cyano trichloride: CuAl(CN)Cl.sub.3 : its preparation

A carbon-containing solid (such as oil shale or tar sand) is treated with air in a six-stage vertical shaft to make producer gas, oil and a pure carbon as products. The top and bottom stages of the vertical shaft are fed to pre-heat incoming solid and to scavenge sensible heat from the processed solid. One stage is a direct retort and makes a gas stream which is a mixture of producer gas and oil. Another stage is a gas producer which converts fixed carbon on the solid to carbon monoxide by reaction with air and carbon dioxide. A fifth stage preheats incoming air. The sixth stage cools and purifies hot carbon monoxide-rich producer gas. The oil and producer gas products are made by direct retorting of the solid with air followed by a separation step. The pure carbon product is made by separating pure carbon monoxide from the carbon monoxide-rich producer gas followed by reacting the carbon monoxide to carbon dioxide and the pure carbon product.

In processes in which liquid sorbents that are solutions in an aromatic hydrocarbon or halogenated aromatic hydrocarbon of a bimetallic salt complex having the generic formula M.sub.I M.sub.II X.sub.n.Aromatic, wherein M.sub.I is a Group I-B metal, M.sub.II is a Group III-A metal, X is halogen, n is the sum of the valences of M.sub.I and M.sub.II, and Aromatic is a monocyclic aromatic hydrocarbon or halogenated aromatic hydrocarbon are used to separate complexible ligands from a gas feedstream that comprises an olefin having 2 or 3 carbon atoms, alkylation of the aromatic hydrocarbon or halogenated aromatic hydrocarbon is inhibited by incorporating in the liquid sorbent from 8.5 mole percent to 30 mole percent, based on the Group I-B metal in the liquid sorbent, of an amine-aluminum chloride adduct, such as ammonia-aluminum chloride adduct or pyridine-aluminum chloride adduct.
