A dispenser actuator assembly () for actuating a dispenser () is disclosed. The dispenser () is in the form of a glass ampoule assembly () having a rupturable glass ampoule () containing a flowable material (M). The glass ampoule () is contained within an outer container () wherein the outer container () has a first open end () and a second closed end (). The glass ampoule assembly () has an applicator () positioned in the first open end (). The dispenser actuator assembly () has a base member () configured to mount on the outer container (). The dispenser actuator assembly () also has an actuator assembly () operably connected to the base member () wherein the actuator assembly () has a first actuator arm () and a second actuator arm () each pivotally connected to the base member (). The first actuator arm () and the second actuator arm () extend from the base member () in generally opposed relation defining a first position, or neutral position. The first actuator arm () has a first protrusion () depending therefrom and the second actuator arm () has a second protrusion () depending therefrom. The first actuator arm () and the second actuator arm () are pivotable from the first position towards one another to a second position, or actuating position, that is configured such that the first protrusion () engages the outer container () and the second protrusion () engages the outer container () to crush the glass ampoule () wherein the flowable material (M) is configured to be dispensed from the glass ampoule assembly ().

Dispenser actuator assembly

A dispenser () for dispensing a flowable material M has a first container () configured to contain the flowable material M. The first container () is configured to be fracturable in response to a force applied thereto. A second container () has a first open end and a second closed end wherein the first container () is contained within the second container (). The dispenser () further has an applicator assembly () operably positioned in the first open end of the second container () and defining a juncture therebetween. A connector member () is positioned proximate the juncture wherein the connector member () provides a compressive force proximate the juncture.

A container assembly has a first container that operably houses a second container. The first container is configured to hold a first flowable substance, and the second container is configured to hold a second flowable substance. The second container is rupturable, preferably by manipulation through the first container, wherein the second flowable substance can mix with the first flowable substance to form a mixture. The first container is also rupturable to dispense the mixture therefrom.

Container assembly

Embodiments of the present invention are directed toward a low-power, high quality compact laser source. Embodiments include an optical combiner combining the outputs of a pump laser and a Fabry-Perot seed laser into a fiber amplifier. The fiber amplifier can comprise, for example, erbium-doped fiber. Embodiments can include pulsed and continuous wave lasers, depending on desired functionality.

Compact laser source

A system, method, and optical communication device are disclosed. The system can include a plurality of optically coupled nodes forming an optical communication network. Each node may include an array of pixel elements, each pixel element having an optical detector and an active optical source. The pixel array may be disposed in a backplane of a lens that is configured to map incoming optical signals to pixel locations in the backplane according to their respective angles of incidence and to minimize a deviation at each pixel location between incoming optical signals arriving at the optical detector and emissions from the optical source. The node may include a processor and memory. The processor can register senders in the optical network at locations in the pixel array and can generate routing information by which to route communications from the registered senders to other pixel elements for transmission to their respective destinations.

Compact wide-angle pixellated active optical link

Techniques are disclosed for sensing a location of laser and/or other optical signals. According to certain embodiments of the invention, an electro-optical assembly can include a detector array coupled to one or more lenses for detecting the signals. Outputs of the photo detectors can be processed using peak detection and/or other techniques to conserve power, help ensure detection, and avoid the need for moving parts.

Miniature laser seeker electro-optics

A system, method, and communication device are disclosed. The system can include an optical interrogator and a phase-modulating communication device. The communication device can include a retro-optimized lens, a phase modulator, and a processor. The retro-optimized lens can be a non-imaging optical arrangement configured to minimize deviation between an incoming signal and a reflected signal used for return link communications. The processor can be configured to calibrate a modulation path length of the communication device based on a wavelength of the communication signal and can control an operation of the phase-modulator to send phase-coded messages to the interrogator. Optionally, the processor can perform a real-time phase calibration of the communication device using feedback from the interrogator.

A dispenser for dispensing a flowable material has a container having a side wall and further having a closed end and an open end. A membrane defines a chamber within the container between the membrane and the closed end of the container. The membrane has a weld seam rupturable upon the application of a force to a side wall of the container proximate the membrane. A swab assembly is operably connected to the open end of the container such that the swab assembly is in flow communication with the open end.

Dispenser and process

An automatic watering and fertilizing device in the form of a large watering can having a spout. The device incorporates a battery-powered timer dispenser that can be programmed to dispense a desired water fertilizer mixture. A plastic drum is housed in the watering can and contains the water fertilizer mixture. The drum contains enough mixture to feed the plants for approximately one week. A quick connect hose is utilized to refill the drum. Refilling the drum is the only regular maintenance required. A plant basket is suspended from the spout of the watering can. The device is adapted to be secured to a supporting object such as a post or a wall.

Pressure applied to the first membrane () fractures the first membrane () wherein the first flowable material () and the second flowable material () mix to form a mixture (). Pressure applied to the second membrane () fractures the second membrane () to dispense the mixture ().

A position location system adapted for Military Operations in Urbanized Terrain (MOUT) training exercises that equips a player with a magnetic sensor for detecting a low frequency (LF) magnetic field from a plurality of stationary antennas. The distance between the player-borne sensor and a stationary antenna is proportional to the logarithm of the magnetic field intensity because the player remains within the &ldquo;near field&rdquo; of the stationary antenna. With scheduled transmissions from six stationary antennas, the position and angular orientation of a player bearing a three-axis magnetic field sensor may be resolved in three-dimensions to within one foot (30 cm). The LF magnetic field intensity is generally unaffected by structural obstructions or multipath distortion. The stationary antennas and transmitters may be permanently installed at little expense in any urban structure so that sensor-equipped emergency workers may be located and tracked within the structure during emergency fire and rescue operations.
