A glideway crowning plate for creating a crown on a cutting edge of a cutting blade with a sharpening jig including a glideway crowning plate having a concaved curved surface of a predetermined radius placed proximate spaced glides of a sharpening jig. The sharpening jig utilizes a flat sharpening plate or a flat sharpening stone and the sharpening jig is side-stroked on the flat sharpening plate or the flat sharpening stone and the glideway crowning plate imposes a curved path of the predetermined radius on the sharpening jig, the cutting blade, and the flat sharpening plate or the flat sharpening stone to create a crown in the cutting edge of a cutting blade.

Glideway crowning plate and method thereof for creating a crown on a cutting edge of a cutting blade with a sharpening jig

A universal sharpening jig for a cutting blade includes a base plate, a protractor plate coupled to the base plate, an incline plate hingedly coupled to the base plate and slideably connected to the protractor plate, the incline plate configured to secure the cutting blade and configured to set and fix the angle of the incline plate with respect to the base plate to define a sharpening angle of all or a portion of a bevel with respect to a flat back of the cutting blade. A push plate is slideably attached proximate a front of the base plate and co-planar with a bottom surface of the base plate, the push plate configured to position a user-applied force vector thereon and directly apply the force vector closely proximate the intersection of the bevel and an abrasive surface to reduce de-stabilizing moments and user energy need to create a sharpened edge between the bevel and the flat back of the cutting blade. At least one glide located proximate back of the base plate is configured to longitudinally and/or laterally level the base plate with respect to a level abrasive surface to allow movement of the jig in all horizontal directions by a user to create the sharpened edge on the cutting blade.

Universal sharpening jig for a cutting blade

A sharpening apparatus having a slightly convexly or concavely curved abrasive surface, for use in sharpening woodworking tools or in other fields requiring such processing of precision parts or tools. The invention may further employ either cylindrical or conic abrasive surfaces. Cylindrical abrasive surfaces are desirable when a curvature of a fixed radius is desired, or where accuracy of the curvature radius is required. Conic or semi-conic surfaces may be used to enable a user, by means of short sharpening strokes, to achieve an approximate desired curvature among a range of possible curvatures provided along the length of the abrasive surface as the curvature radius progressively declines. In this way, one abrasive surface may be used to achieve a variety of curvatures.

Sharpening apparatus for plane iron crowning

A support structure includes a first sheet with perforations having a front surface and a back surface and a second sheet with perforation having a front surface and a back surface. Each perforation in the first sheet and the second sheet has a portion adjacent to the front surface of the sheet that is wider than a portion of the perforation that is adjacent to the back surface of the sheet. A core made of a first material is formed between the back surface of the first sheet and the back surface of the second sheet and within the perforations to anchor the first sheet and the second sheet to the core. Molded features may be disposed on the front surfaces of the sheets and integrally formed with the core through perforations in the sheets. The support structure may be used in a horizontal base or an end-of-arm tool.

Support structure and method of assembling same

An abrasive tool includes a first perforated sheet having a front surface and a back surface, and a second perforated sheet having a front surface and a back surface. A first layer of abrasive grains is bonded to the front surface of the first perforated sheet, and a second layer of abrasive grains is bonded to the front surface of the second perforated sheet. A core includes a first wall having an inner surface and an outer surface, a second wall having an inner surface and an outer surface, and a plurality of walls each connected to both the inner surface of the first wall and the inner surface of the second wall to space the first wall from the second wall and to form a plurality of hollow spaces within the core. The back surface of the first perforated sheet is disposed adjacent to the outer surface of the first wall and the back surface of the second perforated sheet is disposed adjacent to the outer surface of the second wall. The core is bonded to the first perforated sheet and the second perforated sheet by forming the core between the first perforated sheet and the second perforated sheet.

Two-sided abrasive tool

An abrasive tool includes a first perforated sheet having a front surface and a back surface, and a second perforated sheet having a front surface and a back surface. A first layer of abrasive grains is bonded to the front surface of the first perforated sheet and a second layer of abrasive grains is bonded to the front surface of the second perforated sheet. A core is made of a first material, the core having a first surface and a second surface, the back surface of the first perforated sheet disposed adjacent to the first surface of the core and the back surface of the second perforated sheet disposed adjacent to the second surface of the core, the core being bonded to the first perforated sheet and the second perforated sheet by forming the core between the first perforated sheet and the second perforated sheet.

Two-sided abrasive tool and method of assembling same

A rollable massaging device that simultaneously provides both hot and cold therapy is disclosed. The massaging device includes a first cylindrical container defining a first opening and a first longitudinal axis therethrough, and a second cylindrical container defining a second opening and a second longitudinal axis therethrough. The device includes a coupling that releasably and resealably engages said first and second opening. The first container is preferably filled with a hot liquid and the second container is preferably filled with a cold liquid, which are separated by a wall defined by the coupling. The outer surface of each container define any of a number of various surface profiles for massage therapy, such as a plurality of protusions, dimples, ridges, or ribs. In one alternative embodiment, the walls of the first and second containers may be adjustable in length to conform to the size of area to be massaged. In another embodiment, the first and second container also define first and second bottoms opposite the first and second openings to which the containers may be joined.

Rollable massaging device

An abrasive tool includes a base having an upper surface and a perforated sheet having a lower surface and an upper surface. A layer of abrasive grains is bonded to the upper surface of the perforated sheet. The upper surface of the base is bonded to the lower surface of the perforated sheet by a brazing material. A method of assembling an abrasive tool includes bonding the upper surface of the base and the lower surface of the perforated sheet by brazing the surfaces together and bonding a layer of abrasive grains to the upper surface of the perforated sheet.

Interrupted cut abrasive tool

An abrasive tool and method for assembling same includes a first base having a front surface and a back surface and a second base having a front surface and a back surface. A first perforated sheet has a front surface and a back surface, the back surface of the first perforated sheet being bonded to the front surface of the first base. A second perforated sheet has a front surface and a back surface, the back surface of the second perforated sheet being bonded to the front surface of the second base. A first layer of abrasive grains is bonded to the front surface of the first perforated sheet, and a second layer of abrasive grains is bonded to the front surface of the second perforated sheet. The back surface of the first base is bonded to the back surface of the second base. The back surfaces of the bases may be bonded by sonic welding.
