A vehicle window control system is provided. The vehicle window control system includes a window switch that generates a first signal, a first computer that reads a state of the window switch and generates a second signal, and a second computer that controls movement of the vehicle window based on either the first signal or the second signal. The second computer receives the second signal from the first computer through serial communication and the first signal from the switch portion through a hardwire.

Vehicle window control system and method thereof

A vehicle that includes a roof panel including a moonroof opening and a rim extending about the moonroof opening is described herein. The rim includes a lower edge. At least two brackets are coupled to the roof panel, and each bracket includes a first end that defines a hook portion and a second end that defines a mounting portion. The hook portion is coupled to the lower edge of the rim such that the mounting portion extends through the moonroof opening. A support member is coupled to the mounting portion of the brackets, wherein a portion of the support member is oriented to couple to the roof panel, and a fastener is coupled to the brackets and the support member such that the hook portion is secured to the rim and the support member is secured to the roof panel. An auxiliary lighting system is at least one of included at least partially within or coupled to the support member.

A system and method for operating a window of an automotive vehicle having a convertible top includes at least one powered window selectively driven by a motor. A controller is operatively connected to the motor and sends a signal for positioning the powered window to one of a raised or lowered position in response to lowering of the convertible top. An input or selector is operatively associated with the controller that allows a user to select one of the raised and lowered positions of the at least one powered window in response to lowering the convertible top. Further, a temperature sensor provides a signal indicative of the external temperature and/or a vehicle speed sensor provides a signal indicative of the vehicle speed so that positioning of the window can be temperature dependent and/or vehicle speed dependent.

A system and method for controlling power windows of a vehicle includes a receiver mounted on the vehicle for receiving an open window request signal wirelessly from a portable device, at least one exterior condition sensor mounted on the vehicle for detecting an adverse exterior condition relative to the vehicle, and a controller mounted on the vehicle for communicating with the receiver and the at least one exterior condition sensor. The controller commands opening of the one or more power windows when the receiver receives the open window request signal provided the at least one exterior condition sensor does not detect an adverse exterior condition relative to the vehicle.

System and method for controlling power windows of a vehicle

A method for controlling headlights on a vehicle includes detecting for a wiper switch state for a wiper switch on a vehicle, detecting wiper operations, incrementing a counter value by x until the counter value reaches a headlight ON threshold, counting toward a time threshold, decrementing the counter value by x until the counter value reaches a headlight OFF threshold value, and changing a state of the headlights based on the counter value reaching one of the headlight ON threshold and the headlight OFF threshold. Incrementing the counter value by x can occur in response to each detected wiper operation. Counting toward the time threshold can occur in response to detecting a wiper switch OFF state. Decrementing the counter value by x can occur in response to each instance of the time threshold elapsing with no change from the wiper switch OFF state. A plurality of intermediate counter values can be found between the headlight ON threshold and the headlight OFF threshold. A control system is also disclosed.
