Methods and systems of treating sleep disordered breathing in a patient suffering therefrom by activating one or more infrahyoid strap muscles are provided. Activation of one or more infrahyoid muscles can be accomplished by stimulating an ansa cervicalis, including one or both of the superior root and the inferior root of the ansa cervicalis, alone or in combination with stimulating the hypoglossal nerve.

Systems and methods for treating sleep disordered breathing

A method for selecting a preferred robotic grasp of an object-of-interest using pairwise ranking includes: identifying a robotic candidate grasp usable to grasp the object-of-interest, the object-of-interest situated in an environment; receiving a grasp preference for a preferred candidate grasp of the object-of-interest; calculating a heuristic to describe a relationship of the candidate grasp to one or more of the object-of-interest and the environment; and using the heuristic and using the grasp preference, computing a pairwise ranking of two candidate grasps to determine an ordering of the at least two candidate grasps.

Method and system for selecting a preferred robotic grasp of an object-of-interest using pairwise ranking

A torpedo apparatus comprises a propulsion module operable to propel the torpedo apparatus through water and a steering module operatively coupled to the propulsion module. The steering module including a plurality of fins which are controllable for controlling a direction of travel of the torpedo apparatus through water. A plurality of head modules are removably and interchangeably attachable to the torpedo apparatus, wherein each of the head modules houses at least one guidance assembly and at least one utility assembly. A power supply module is configured to provide power to the propulsion module, the steering module, and an attached one of the head modules.

Modular underwater torpedo system

A floatation member for ballistic carrier vest includes a first outer layer and an intermediate layer overlying the first outer layer. A peripheral edge of the intermediate layer is secured to a peripheral edge of the first outer layer to define a first cavity therebetween. A panel selected from a non-ballistic panel and a ballistic panel is received within the first cavity. A second outer layer overlies the intermediate layer and a peripheral edge of the second outer layer secured to the peripheral edge of the intermediate layer to define a second cavity therebetween. A valve configured to deliver an inflation gas into the second cavity. In a further aspect, a ballistic safety article for providing ballistic protection for a person is provided.

Maritime ballistic safety carrier

An improved flotation safety system includes a self-righting plate carrier with inflatable tactical aid. The system herein may advantageously be used by military personnel including covert war fighters, combat swimmers, maritime airborne operations personnel, and others. The flotation safety system herein includes buoyancy compensators to offset the wearer's equipment load and emergency self-righting flotation to provide positive buoyancy to the wear.

Flotation safety system

A tactical flotation safety system having a tactical flotation safety vest attachment removably attached to a tactical vest. The tactical flotation safety vest attachment has two side panels adjustably attached at the back and which are secured at the front and back of the tactical vest with cover panels. The two side panels include inner flaps and outer flaps enclosing inflation bladders and inflation mechanisms. The inflation mechanisms are secured to the interiors of the side panels and connected to exterior handles. When necessary, a user may deploy the inflation bladders by pulling on the handles to activate a pressurized gas source, such as liquid carbon dioxide cartridges of the inflation mechanism thereby inflating the bladders to provide buoyancy to the user.

Tactical flotation safety system

Pivoting helmet mounts for an optical device are provided. In one aspect, a breakaway connector which is selectively configurable between breakaway and nonbreakaway configurations is provided. In a further aspect, a strap mount system for securing the helmet mount to the helmet employs a rotating ratchet assembly to adjust tension in the strap. In another aspect, a helmet mount for an optical device comprises a track assembly attached to a helmet to allow stowing of the optical device in a further retracted position. The track mount system may further include electrical connectors for attaching a power supply and an electronic device. In another aspect, a mounting bracket allows helmet-mounted optics to be shared with a weapon accessory mount. In a further aspect, a optical sighting device for a weapon combines a reflex sight a night vision goggle to allow targeting at night or in other low-light conditions.

Helmet mounting systems

The flotation device includes an inflatable bladder, inflation means, activation means for the inflation means and is self-contained. Preferably, a plurality of flotation bladders which are inflatable by the user, a third party or automatically are used. A closure system prevents accidental inflation of the inflation means. The devices provides buoyancy to personnel and associated equipment.

Tactical flotation support system

An intercommunication and alarm telephone system has a common control in the form of a clock driven central unit connected to an alarm control unit and one telephone line shared by a plurality of station units. The central control unit provides means for answering and placing outside telephone calls to a central telephone office, holding and transferring such calls, giving paging and intercom services, excluding and locking out other stations from outside calls, giving suitable alarms, and such other services as may be necessary or desirable.
