A driven member of a metal peening machine is disclosed. The metal peening machine is configured to drive the driven member into contact with a work surface of a metal workpiece to deform the metal workpiece. The driven member includes a shaft with an impact end. The driven member includes least one of a plurality of impact features, an impact feature with a non-flat impact surface, a non-round impact feature, and an asymmetrical impact feature that is coupled to and protrudes from the impact end of the shaft. The at least one of the plurality of impact features, the impact feature with a non-flat impact surface, the non-round impact feature, and the asymmetrical impact feature define at least one impact surface to be driven into contact with the work surface of the metal workpiece.

Method and apparatus for impacting metal parts

An apparatus for forming a metal workpiece having a first surface is described herein. The apparatus includes a trough containing a liquid. The apparatus also includes a support for positioning the metal workpiece in an impact-receiving position. In the impact-receiving position, the first surface is submerged in the liquid. The apparatus includes a driven member for applying multiple impacts to the first surface of the metal workpiece while the metal workpiece is in the impact-receiving position.

Apparatus, system, and method for forming metal parts

A driven member of a metal peening machine is disclosed. The metal peening machine is configured to drive the driven member into contact with a work surface of a metal workpiece to deform the metal workpiece. The driven member includes a shaft with an impact end. At least one of a plurality of impact features, an impact feature with a non-flat impact surface, a non-round impact feature, and an asymmetrical impact feature is coupled to and protrudes from the impact end of the shaft. Device and method for bone fixation. The device may comprise a bone plate including a plate body and a locking element. The plate body may define a plurality of openings configured to receive fasteners that secure the plate body to bone. The plurality of openings may include an elongate opening. The locking element, in turn, may define a through-hole disposed under the elongate opening for placement closer to bone than the elongate opening. The locking element may be configured to be disposed in threaded engagement with a fastener received by the locking element at the through-hole from the elongate opening. The locking element may be connected slidably to the plate body, in the absence of the fastener, to permit movement of the through-hole along the elongate opening.

Bone fusion system

Method of tapping a bone plate intraoperatively. A bone plate having an aperture may be selected, and the bone plate may be placed on a bone. A thread may be formed in the aperture using a tap device with the bone plate disposed on the bone. A hole may be formed in the bone, with the hole in alignment with the aperture. The hole may be widened adjacent the aperture to create a counterbore in the bone. A fastener may be advanced into threaded engagement with the thread after removal of the tap device from the aperture.

A system, for installation of fastening systems to a structure, includes a fastening system installation specification, which includes dimensional and qualitative requirements for components of the fastening systems; and a tool. The tool includes an outer housing having an interior hollow, a gage surface, and a base surface, the base surface having a contact area that contacts the surface of the structure. An inner plug disposed within the interior hollow translates axially within the interior hollow. The inner plug has a sensing end that contacts a bolt of the fastening system and references the shank section of the bolt. The inner plug has an indicator end dimensioned to accept washers and nuts of the fastening system stacked on the gage surface. The inner plug has an indicator that provides installation information, according to either qualitative or dimensional requirements, about the components of the fastening system being installed using the tool.
