A cleaning composition suitable for removing ionic flux residues from printed circuit boards comprises an approximate azeotropic mixture of 1,1,2-trichloro-1,2,2-trifluoroethane and an aliphatic alcohol having from 1 to 3 carbon atoms containing as additives and aliphatic alcohol having from 4 to 6 carbon atoms, preferably isobutyl alcohol, and a polyol, preferably ethylene glycol. Contaminated articles are cleaned by bringing them into contact with the cleaning composition which preferably is employed at the boil.

Cleaning compositions based on trichlorotrifluoroethane and alcohols

An improved cleaning composition for removal of flux from printed circuit boards consists essentially of the azeotropic mixture of 1,1,2-trichloro-1,2,2-trifluoroethane and a lower aliphatic alcohol and containing as additive an N-substituted or N,N-disubstituted amide of an aliphatic carboxylic acid wherein there is at least one hydroxyalkyl or hydroxyalkenyl substituent of up to 8 carbon atoms attached to the amide nitrogen atom.

Cleaning composition comprising 1,1,2-trichloro-1,2,2-trifluoroethane

A composition for cleaning printed circuit boards contains 92 to 95 weight percent 1,1,2-trichloro-1,2,2-trifluoroethane, 5 to 7 weight percent methanol and 0.05 to 1 weight percent methyl acetate.

Cleaning composition

A composition suitable for cleaning printed circuit boards consists of 89.5% to 96.9% 1,1,2-trichloro-1,2,2-trifluoroethane, 2.5% to 8% ethanol, 0.1% to 3% methyl acetate and preferably 0.01% to 0.5% nitromethane.

A process for providing an abrasion resistant coating on the surface of a glass container by treating the container with a solution containing 0.5 to 10% by weight of phosphoric acid and less than 5% by weight of metal phosphate in an aqueous diluent, the temperature of the surface of the container being at least 300.degree. C, and thereafter applying a lubricious organic cold-end coating to the surface of the container.
